The Emergency AD was received at approximately 3:00 a.m. local time on November 29, prompting the immediate activation of AirAsia’s Business Continuity Plan. Despite the operational complexity, the Group executed the directive while maintaining flight operations—driven by seamless coordination across Engineering, Flight Operations, Network, Ground Operations, and Customer Experience teams in Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Cambodia.

“Safety is fundamental to the trust our guests place in us, and our response to this regulator-mandated action was both swift and comprehensive,” said Bo Lingam, Group CEO of AirAsia Aviation Group.

“Our teams across the region mobilized immediately to meet all engineering, operational, safety, and customer experience requirements, ensuring minimal inconvenience to our guests. Through meticulous planning and strong Group-wide coordination—led by our engineering teams and supported by ecosystem partner ADE—the compliance work was completed within 24 hours. Our operations teams continue to actively manage and minimize any disruptions.”

Lingam also expressed appreciation to stakeholders who supported the rapid implementation. “We thank our Allstars, regulators, and airport partners across the region, and most especially our guests, for their patience and cooperation as we carried out this essential safety measure. This unified response reflects the agility, teamwork, and guest-centric mindset that define AirAsia.”
