Vice Ganda, Klarisse, Lyka, and Reiven Front New OPM Anthem for Eurovision Asia PH Selection

A powerhouse lineup of Filipino talent—featuring Vice Ganda, Klarisse, Lyka Estrella, Reiven Umali, Ian Manibale, MIAH, and AZTER—has united to champion OPM on the international stage with Jonathan Manalo’s sweeping new anthem, “Mabuhay Ang Musikang Pilipino.”

The anthem kicked off the Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026: Philippine Selection Night, which was held last August 30 at the New Frontier Theater. The collaborative showcase highlighted a diverse cross-section of local artists, celebrating the continuing international growth of OPM.

For Jonathan Manalo, the track embodies a long-held dream shared by local musicians, songwriters, producers, and fans alike: to watch OPM break through international borders and resonate with a truly global audience.

“Music has always been one of the most powerful ways we Filipinos tell our stories, express who we are, and connect with one another. ‘Mabuhay Ang Musikang Pilipino’ seeks to capture that spirit in one collective voice,” Jonathan shared.

He penned “Mabuhay Ang Musikang Pilipino” with a dual purpose: to honor the expanding international footprint of Original Pilipino Music (OPM), and to serve as an empowering call to action for local creators. The anthem urges Filipino artists to proudly and unapologetically share their distinct musical style and cultural heritage with the rest of the world.

Highlighting the track’s broader cultural mission, Jonathan, who leads the creatives, content, and operations at ABS-CBN Music, drew a parallel to international music traditions. “Eurovision has long represented the idea that music can cross borders without erasing national identity. In that spirit, ‘Mabuhay Ang Musikang Pilipino’ offers a distinctly Filipino statement for an international musical platform. Filipino music can be proudly local and confidently global at the same time,” he explained.

The bilingual track expertly weaves Tagalog and English storytelling into a moving pop anthem. It honors the foundational history of OPM while casting an excited eye toward the future, championing a rising wave of Filipino musicians who are breaking boundaries and growing their fanbases both at home and on the international stage.

The anthem masterfully builds toward a final, soaring proclamation that drives its thesis home. The message is clear and uncompromising: “Musikang Pilipino, atin ’to, para sa buong mundo.
