OPM hitmakers dwta and Arthur Miguel are back together for a third time with their latest smooth single, “At Kung Sakali,” out now through Sony Music Entertainment. The fresh track builds on the stellar momentum and breakthrough success of the duo’s previous collaborative fan favorites, “Lihim (Nuarin Sasabihon)” and “Tahan Na.”

“At Kung Sakali” stands as a massive milestone for the duo, marking the first time they sat down in the same room to co-write a track. What started as an unplanned, casual creative exercise quickly grew into a full release, driven by a natural chemistry and deep artistic trust that has been growing since they first paired up in 2023.

“Actually, our past collaborations were both written separately,” dwta clarifies. “Arthur wrote Lihim (Nuarin Sasabihon), while I wrote Tahan Na. We never really tried writing a song together before, so this time we thought, why not? At first, we were really doing it for fun. We didn’t even have any plans to release it or anything. We just wanted to see what we could come up with, and we were already happy just making something together. But then “At Kung Sakali” happened. I think one of the reasons we keep coming back to working with each other is because of the friendship we built since our first collaboration back in 2023.”

Conceived and completed in a mere half-day, “At Kung Sakali” came together effortlessly as a reflection of the duo’s shared creative synergy. Despite both artists boasting distinct musical identities and writing styles, dwta and Arthur Miguel approached the session with complete openness, seamlessly blending their ideas to create something truly magical.

As dwta explains, the song captures the real-world anxiety of imagining a life with someone while worrying about the “what-ifs.” Creatively framed around the childhood concept of a dollhouse (bahay-bahayan), “At Kung Sakali” serves as a beautiful reminder that despite all the uncertainty, choosing to stay and love your partner is what matters most.

The Bicol-born singer-songwriter explains, “At Kung Sakali is also our first collaboration that’s really about being in love. Our first collab was about confessing your feelings, while our second one was more about heartbreak and hope. This time, we’re in our “in-love” era even though we’re both happily single. We’re both actually known for making heartbreak songs, so it was fun to make something that’s warmer and purer this time.”

Under the guidance of producer Luke April, the track successfully preserves the raw spontaneity of its initial songwriting session. Rather than over-polishing the piece, April allowed the distinct inputs of both dwta and Arthur Miguel to naturally shape the final sound.

“We did the production on a separate day from the songwriting, and Luke April joined us in producing the song,” shares dwta. “After we finished writing the song, our team really liked it, so we decided to release it. Luckily, everyone was available and was immediately game for it.”

dwta and Arthur Miguel’s “At Kung Sakali” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.
