Energy storage, hydrogen microgrids, and grid resilience technology headline the 2026 edition, arriving as the Philippines pushes its renewable energy targets
Building on a previous edition that generated US$53.4 million in business opportunities and attracted more than 10,000 buyers, the Taiwan Expo returns to the SMX Convention Center Manila from September 17 to 19, bringing together more than 125 Taiwanese exhibitors across technology, sustainability, agriculture, healthcare, and lifestyle.

The participating Taiwanese enterprises will showcase their products and solutions under a “National Team” banner, organized by the Taiwan International Trade Administration (TITA) under Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and implemented by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).
“Fifty-three million dollars in business opportunities showed us how much appetite there is in this market,” said James C. F. Huang, Chairman of TAITRA. “This year we want to build on that through joint ventures, licensing, and local assembly, so Taiwanese and Philippine companies are building together rather than simply trading. Our measure of success is how many of these connections are still producing value for both sides five years from now.”
The expo comes as Taiwan-Philippines trade relations continue to expand. The two economies traded US$6.71 billion in goods in 2024, while bilateral trade increased by 8.5 percent during the first seven months of 2025. The growth also moved Taiwan from the Philippines’ 11th-largest trading partner to 10th during the period.
Green & Innovation Showcase Addresses Energy and Sustainability Needs
One of the highlights of this year’s expo is the Green & Innovation Showcase, arriving at a time when power costs and grid reliability remain important commercial concerns in the Philippines.
Taiwanese exhibitors will introduce battery energy storage systems and hydrogen microgrids designed for island and off-grid applications. These technologies could have direct relevance to efforts to electrify communities located beyond the main Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao grids.
The showcase will also feature certified green-building insulation designed to reduce cooling loads in Philippine commercial developments, AI-powered waste-sorting systems aimed at local government units dealing with increasing landfill pressure, and fully biodegradable, plant-based drinking straws manufactured at commercial scale.
Agritech Solutions Target Productivity and Labor Challenges
The same focus on practical, market-driven solutions continues at the Agritech & Food Pavilion, where exhibitors will showcase technologies addressing some of the productivity and labor constraints faced by Philippine agriculture.
Among the featured solutions are Autonomous Mobile Robots, which can reduce dependence on manual field labor, and smart livestock environmental-control systems designed to help address mortality losses in poultry and swine operations—an ongoing cost concern for Philippine producers.
The pavilion will also introduce Philippine buyers to Taiwanese agricultural and food products, including premium Phalaenopsis orchids, high-mountain teas, and specialty foods, with exhibitors seeking local distribution partners.
Intelligent Technology Brings AIoT, Robotics and Cybersecurity to the Fore
While the Agritech & Food Pavilion focuses on productivity at the ground level, the Intelligent Technology Pavilion explores the digital infrastructure powering modern businesses.
The pavilion covers technologies such as the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT), edge computing, and cybersecurity, with exhibitors presenting solutions designed for a range of industrial and enterprise applications.
Featured technologies include collaborative robots for manufacturing lines, forklift safety systems for warehouse and logistics operators, and zero-trust cybersecurity frameworks aimed at Philippine businesses navigating requirements under the Data Privacy Act while facing increasing exposure to ransomware and other cyber threats.
Beauty, Wellness and Healthcare Solutions
Healthcare and consumer biotechnology take center stage at the Beauty & Wellness Pavilion, bringing together biotech skincare products and medical supplies.
Exhibitors will showcase functional bio-electro devices, anti-counterfeiting technologies for pharmaceutical and cosmetic packaging, as well as complete lines of sterile surgical supplies and medical dressings intended for hospital procurement.
The combination reflects the growing intersection between biotechnology, consumer wellness, healthcare delivery, and product safety.
Premium Lifestyle Products Seek Philippine Partners
Completing the exhibition floor is the Premium Lifestyle Pavilion, which brings together a diverse range of consumer and lifestyle technologies.

Products on display include rPET recycled fabric bags, electric vehicle safety blankets, micrometer towels, memory storage devices, smart wine aerators, and precision bathroom components.
Many of the participating companies are looking to establish or expand their presence in the Philippines through local distributors and retail partners.
With more than 125 Taiwanese exhibitors converging in Manila, this year’s Taiwan Expo goes beyond showcasing products. Its broader objective is to deepen commercial ties between Taiwanese and Philippine businesses through partnerships, technology transfer, licensing, joint ventures, and potential local assembly.
As bilateral trade continues to grow, the expo provides another platform for businesses from both markets to explore opportunities that can extend well beyond a three-day exhibition—and potentially create partnerships designed to deliver value for years to come.
