OPM hitmaker Mark Carpio celebrates a major milestone in his career with the release of his latest EP, Huling Pag-ibig, under EMPIRE.PH Music and ONErpm. Marking his 10th year in the music industry, the 4-track project offers a deeply introspective look into love, loss, and emotional closure—delivered through a cohesive and thoughtfully crafted sonic experience.

With nearly 400 million streams on Spotify and a solid catalog of hits, Carpio continues to strengthen his reputation as one of OPM’s most consistent and emotionally resonant balladeers. This new release builds on that foundation, presenting a more reflective and mature perspective on relationships and personal growth.
Conceptually, Huling Pag-ibig serves as a continuation of the narrative introduced in his earlier tracks like “Hiling” and “Kay Tagal.” This time, however, Carpio shifts the lens—from hopeful longing and fulfillment to the reality that love does not always unfold as expected. The EP explores the full spectrum of emotions, from holding on to finally letting go, creating a seamless emotional journey for listeners.
“This EP is the twist of that story,” Carpio shares. “It asks, what if, after all that waiting, things didn’t turn out the way I hoped? It’s about fighting for love until your very last drop of hope and learning to let go when there’s nothing left.”
What makes the EP even more compelling is its creative evolution. Several of the songs began as unfinished ideas during the early stages of Carpio’s career, only reaching completion years later through personal reflection and real-life experiences. Through platforms like TikTok and his fan-driven series “Kape Tayo,” Carpio also involved his listeners in the creative process—making the project feel like a shared emotional narrative.
Each track in Huling Pag-ibig brings a distinct sound while contributing to the EP’s overall theme. The title track, produced by RJ Pineda, draws inspiration from sweeping ballads but is grounded in a distinctly Filipino sensibility. “Ayaw Mo Na,” co-written with Ethan Loukas, leans into a more organic, folk-inspired direction. Meanwhile, “Paano Ba Mag-isa” strips things back with a classic ballad approach that highlights Carpio’s vocal and emotional range.
Serving as the EP’s centerpiece is “Paalam Na,” produced by Nikhil Amarnani of Line In Productions. Departing from Carpio’s usual piano-driven sound, the track embraces alternative pop/rock elements, offering a powerful and modern take on heartbreak and closure.
Carpio reveals that “Paalam Na” took nearly a decade to complete. The final inspiration came from a quiet but impactful moment with a close friend going through a breakup—an experience that ultimately gave him the clarity to finish the song. In the context of the EP, it represents acceptance: understanding that sometimes, moving on happens at different paces.
Beyond its emotional depth, Huling Pag-ibig also signals a turning point in Carpio’s artistry. Known for his signature “hugot” style, the singer hints that this release may mark the end of his ballad-driven era, opening the door for new creative directions in future projects.
“This could be the closing chapter of that side of me,” Carpio shares. “What comes next is something I’m really excited about—but I’ll reveal that after this EP.”

As he marks a decade in the industry, Mark Carpio delivers a project that not only reflects his growth as an artist but also resonates with anyone who has experienced love in all its complexities. Huling Pag-ibig is now available on all digital streaming platforms worldwide.
