Arkin Magalona officially claims his place in the spotlight as BARQ, joining the roster of exceptional talents under Sony Music Entertainment.

Coming from a family deeply rooted in music, film, and entertainment, the rising rapper launches his journey in style with his electrifying debut single, “Shake Dat Thang.”

Produced by Kyleaux, the track is a vibrant nod to the Y2K revival movement—cinematic in sound, bursting with rhythm, and packed with fresh sonic twists.

“We were vibing to music from the 2000s—Neptunes, 50 Cent, Timbaland, Pharrell, Kanye, and all the greats,” BARQ shares. “It was our first time working together, and we just bounced off each other’s energy until everything fell perfectly into place.”

As the youngest son of the late Francis Magalona, BARQ carries a proud legacy but forges his own path. He chose “Shake Dat Thang” as his debut single because it captures his mission to disrupt, redefine, and celebrate modern hip-hop with authenticity and flair.

“I wanted my first single to make a statement—that I’m here and ready to shake things up. I want listeners to have fun, let loose, and see a different side of me,” he says.
