AirAsia Philippines is set to strengthen its presence in the Queen City of the South as it reopens three domestic and two international routes from Mactan-Cebu International Airport, reaffirming its commitment to make air travel more affordable and accessible for Filipinos.

Starting September 3, 2025, travelers may book flights to Iloilo (ILO), Caticlan (MPH), Davao (DVO), Kuala Lumpur (KUL), and Macau (MFM) via the MOVE app or airasia.com, with operations officially commencing on November 15, 2025 using Airbus A320 aircraft.
Serving as the gateway to Central Visayas, Cebu continues to show strong market demand, with 5.1 million tourist arrivals in 2024, according to the Department of Tourism Region 7.
“Cebu remains a major driver in realizing our growth story in the Philippines. We recognize the value of this important hub, connecting guests to key domestic and international leisure markets. Beyond strengthening tourism, this expansion also opens new job opportunities as we welcome additional pilots, cabin crew, and ramp agents to support our Cebu operations,” said Suresh Bangah, AirAsia Philippines President & CEO.
To meet this demand, the Flight Operations Department has welcomed hundreds of pilot and cabin crew applicants eager to join AirAsia’s growing team of excellence-driven professionals.
The reopening of the Cebu hub comes just in time for the “ber” months, traditionally a peak travel season when many Filipinos plan their holidays.
As the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline, AirAsia continues to fulfill its mission of democratizing air travel, offering guests not only the best-value fares but also exciting promotional sales to and from Cebu.
