Hosted by the I Want To Share Foundation, the CAn Beat It! Ceremony honored young survivors who finished chemotherapy.

Over 115 brave children, who once faced life-threatening battles with cancer, were celebrated as champions at the “CAn Beat It” graduation ceremony organized by the I Want To Share Foundation (IWTS). Held at the Manila Prince Hotel, the event honored pediatric cancer survivors who completed their chemotherapy treatment—a journey no child should ever have to take, but one they courageously conquered.

Now in its fourth year, “CAn Beat It” has grown into a powerful tradition—more than a ceremony, it’s a celebration of life, resilience, and hope. Each year, the event becomes more meaningful, shining a spotlight on the strength of young cancer warriors and their families. It also reflects IWTS’s unwavering commitment to supporting childhood cancer care at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH).

This year’s graduates battled a variety of serious illnesses, including leukemia, brain tumors, osteosarcoma, lymphoma, retinoblastoma, and more. Behind each diagnosis was a story of grit, hope, and teamwork—between young patients, dedicated healthcare professionals, and supportive families. The ceremony served as a reminder that every child deserves a fighting chance and a future filled with possibility.

The occasion was filled with joy and inspiration. Acclaimed musical and theater performer Arman Ferrer brought uplifting music to the room, while keynote speaker Dr. Vicki Belo shared her own emotional journey with cancer. Also present were Dr. Pamela Fajardo, Head of the UP-PGH Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology; IWTS board members; and other notable guests including Dr. Hayden Kho, Scarlet Snow Belo, and singer-actress Ysabel Ortega.

“I know how tough the battle can be—I’ve been there myself,” shared IWTS Founder Sheila Romero, a breast cancer survivor. “But I also know the power of hope. These children are living proof that healing is possible and worth fighting for.”

Each child received gifts from IWTS, including toys from the Belo Medical Group, making the day even more memorable.

Building on the momentum of its successful 2023 gala, IWTS is preparing for an even bigger night of advocacy and celebration. On August 1, 2025, the foundation will host its second fundraising gala, “An Evening for Brave Warriors”, at the Grand Ballroom of Shangri-La The Fort, Bonifacio Global City.

Presented by the Belo Medical Group, the prestigious affair will blend entertainment, fashion, art, and advocacy to raise funds for critical cancer care initiatives. Proceeds from the gala will support:

  • Phase 2 of the Bone Marrow Transplant Wing
  • Procurement of Mindray BeneFusion/UVP Infusion Pumps
  • Ongoing support for the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Department
  • Long-term Survivorship Programs
  • Public awareness campaigns for early detection and cancer survival

The gala will feature a heartfelt fashion show with young cancer survivors as models, wearing designs from renowned Filipino designers including Ivar Aseron, Michael Leyva, Francis Libiran, and Dennis Lustico. Guests can also look forward to a charity art auction, showcasing works by artists such as Ramon Orlina, Elmer Borlongan, Manny Garibay, Daniel dela Cruz, Jigger Cruz, Jinggoy Buensuceso, and Yeo Kaa, along with luxury raffle draws and exclusive experiences.

“We’re not just building memories—we’re building futures,” Romero added. “Every life saved, every child celebrated, is a victory worth sharing.”
