Ride-hailing is becoming an increasingly regular part of how Filipinos navigate the city. According to inDrive data, 74% of Metro Manila residents have used ride-hailing apps within the past three months, with users booking rides an average of three times a week.

The data highlights how Filipino commuters are becoming more deliberate about the way they move. As mobility needs continue to evolve, so too do the factors that influence how Filipinos choose to get around.

Filipino Commuters Are Becoming More Intentional

inDrive data shows that ride-hailing apps have become an essential part of getting around the metro for many Filipino passengers. In fact, 56% say they book trips through ride-hailing apps whenever they are in a hurry, highlighting the role these platforms play in providing efficient in-city transportation.

Weather is another major factor, with 49% saying ride-hailing has become their go-to mode of transport when weather conditions affect their travel plans.

Beyond convenience, commuters also turn to ride-hailing apps for a more comfortable travel experience (32%), to reach destinations with limited nearby public transportation options (30%), and to feel safer when traveling late at night or through unfamiliar areas (29%).

inDrive data further shows that ride-hailing demand is driven by Filipinos traveling from their residences to key urban destinations, including malls, airports, and bus terminals.

Taken together, these patterns suggest that convenience is no longer simply about getting a ride from one point to another. For Filipino commuters, mobility has become closely integrated into their everyday lifestyle, with ride-hailing serving as a flexible option that can adapt to different destinations, schedules, and plans.

More tellingly, the data reveals that Filipinos are becoming increasingly intentional when deciding which ride-hailing app to use. Seventy-eight percent compare fares across several apps at once, but the decision goes beyond simply choosing the lowest price.

In fact, 87% value an app that makes them feel safest while commuting. Meanwhile, 73% prioritize ride quality over cost, with more passengers looking for readily available rides, flexibility when booking, friendly drivers, and overall comfort.

inDrive Continues Scaling to Keep Pace With Passenger Demand

As more Filipinos become reliant on ride-hailing apps, inDrive has emerged as one of the leading options for booking in-city trips. The platform’s in-city ride requests surged by 155% in the first half of 2026, more than doubling the number recorded during the same period last year.

To keep pace with growing demand, inDrive has also seen a significant increase in its active partner driver base, expanding its driver community to help accommodate the rising volume of ride requests.

“With more Filipinos relying on apps like inDrive for their daily commutes, mobility providers need to keep pace with what passengers need and value,” said Sofia Guinto, inDrive Philippines Country Manager. “By providing consistently available, convenient, and safe rides, we hope to reach more Filipino passengers and prove that a ride booked on inDrive is a trip that is worth their time and budget.”

As more Filipinos turn to ride-hailing apps for their everyday journeys, inDrive remains committed to onboarding more qualified drivers and developing features centered on passengers’ freedom of choice.
