Returning to the Philippines, the Filipino-Australian artist will perform live covers and reimagined versions of the foundational songs that shaped her career.

Marking a decade in the music industry, Ylona Garcia is back in the Philippines for a two-night homecoming event that beautifully honors her roots while teasing her next chapter.

The two-part anniversary event offers a creative retrospective, allowing Garcia to reframe her ten-year catalog through the lens of her current artistic identity and vocal maturity.

The celebration launches in Manila on September 4 with Backyard Live: Ylona Garcia Spotlight, held at Baesa’s Backyard Warehouse Studio in Quezon City. This private, invitation-only event provides a limited audience with an intimate sneak peek of her decade-long anniversary show.

The following evening, September 5, she will open the celebration to the general public with 10 Years of Ylona Garcia: Live at Venice Grand Canal Mall. Located in McKinley Hill, the concert is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 p.m.

Reflecting on her journey, Ylona opens up about the personal and artistic shifts that defined her career. “Celebrating 10 years in music is a reminder of how far I’ve come, but also of what really matters to me,” she shares. “Personally, the first five years were a great challenge as I was learning more about my culture and how showbiz worked. However, the last five years have been some of the hardest years of my life. I lost someone very important to me, went through experiences where I allowed people to take advantage of me emotionally, and found myself alone in another country for the second time. Artistically, though, those experiences taught me a lot about the difference between being a singer and being an artist.”

These two live performances will ultimately be compiled into Ylona Garcia’s 10th Anniversary Live Album, a nine-track release capturing her unique takes on her catalog. This live project acts as a direct prelude to her highly anticipated second EP, subtly blending her evolving sonic direction and new influences right into the concert arrangements.

Ylona’s journey from local pop sensation to international artist has been an absolute rollercoaster. After dominating the Philippine charts, she signed with Paradise Rising (under 88rising) and packed her bags for Los Angeles. Her global push has paid off big time, landing her on stage at the Head in the Clouds festival, soundtracking Riot Games’ VALORANT with her hit “Entertain Me,” and earning a spotlight in V Magazine.

Ylona Garcia’s Philippine comeback serves as a celebration of the music and lessons that shaped her ten-year career, as well as a launchpad for her next era. For this anniversary initiative, the versatile singer-songwriter is collaborating with Sony Music Entertainment to deliver her classic tracks in fresh, unexpected formats.

Finding a safe creative space has allowed the artist to heal from past industry challenges, making this label collaboration deeply meaningful. “This is my third time working with a music label, and collaboration truly means a lot to me,” Ylona explains. “So, through this project, being able to figure out what collaboration looks like between Sony Music Entertainment and me has actually been a very healing experience. I’ve learned a lot about what it means to bring my vision into a room, listen to other people’s perspectives, and build something together without losing what I came there to say.”
