NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO“LUCKY, FOREVER” OUT NOW

Australian indie-rock mainstays Vacations have officially dropped their brand-new album, Pursuit of Anything. Comprising frontman Campbell Burns, bassist Jake Johnson, guitarist Nate Delizzotti, and drummer Joseph Van Lier, the band marked the arrival of the project by simultaneously debuting the official music video for their standout closing ballad, “Lucky, Forever.”
Musically diverging from his usual themes, Campbell Burns drew inspiration for “Lucky, Forever” directly from witnessing the weddings of Johnson and Van Lier. He openly characterizes the track as “me trying to write the most clichéd love song that I can while trying to be really earnest.” Reflecting on the creative process, he adds, “I wanted to write a song from their perspective. I don’t really write love songs, and as a subject it’s been incredibly overdone. But it was really refreshing to just write something that was so simple when it came to the intention.”
Vacations Shift Focus to New Album Pursuit of Anything Following First Asia Tour
Fresh off the heels of their first-ever Asian tour leg for the “Holy Grail” Tour—which saw them perform live across the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia this past July—global indie powerhouses Vacations are turning their attention to their next chapter with the announcement of their new album, Pursuit of Anything.
A Labor of Love Born from Lifelong Friendship
Crafted by a tight-knit group of friends who have been creating music together since their late teens, Pursuit of Anything is an earnest, dreamy pop record that tackles themes of maturity, family, and the future. Frontman Campbell Burns describes the title as a reflection on how happiness operates as a “feedback loop,” capturing the constant human drive to chase the next milestone. The album promises to showcase the band at the absolute peak of their songwriting capabilities, delivering a sophisticated yet nostalgic sound right from the very first listen.
Navigating Growth, Ambition, and Global Success

The record serves as a creative turning point for the band, heavily inspired by Burns’ transition from his hometown of Newcastle, Australia, to major American cultural hubs like Los Angeles and New York. The lyrics delve into the contrasting realities of choosing a high-ambition music career over the traditional paths taken by peers back home. Written collaboratively by the entire band and produced by Burns, the project highlights Vacations as a unified creative force. The final mix by Beatriz Artola (known for her work with Geese and Caamp) introduces a more intricate, emotionally expansive, and richer sonic landscape.
With over 3.5 billion streams, double-platinum hits, and sold-out global tours under their belt, this album marks their definitive arrival as a premier indie act of their generation.
Stepping Into Nostalgia with “The Pursuit Mobile Experience”
To mark the album’s release, Vacations teamed up with digital designer Lee Martin to launch The Pursuit Mobile Experience, an interactive album companion built to mirror the retro aesthetic of iPhone OS 3. Fans exploring the digital space can access:
• “The Pursuit” endless runner game, complete with an 8-bit chip-tune remix of their hit single “Holy Grail.”
• A green checker camera filter to capture custom retro visuals.
• The Pursuit Hotline, an anonymous fan voicemail system. Listeners can dial 1-346-PURSUIT right now to leave their own messages or hear recordings from other fans around the world.
