Samsung Tech Forum series continues at CES 2026 with AI Platform Center discussion on the future of trust and AI
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. brought together leading voices in technology, research, and ethics for a timely discussion on trust in artificial intelligence during its Tech Forum at CES 2026. Titled “In Tech We Trust? Rethinking Security & Privacy in the AI Age,” the panel was held at The Wynn in Las Vegas and examined how trust has become a defining factor in how people adopt, accept, and rely on AI as it becomes increasingly embedded in everyday life.

Making Invisible Intelligence Feel Trustworthy
As AI systems grow more autonomous—anticipating user needs, shaping daily routines, and operating seamlessly across connected devices—panelists stressed that trust must be built through consistent and understandable behavior, not bold claims.
The session featured insights from Allie K. Miller, CEO of Open Machine; Amy Webb, CEO of the Future Today Strategy Group; Zack Kass, Global AI Advisor at ZKAI Advisory and former Head of Go-To-Market at OpenAI; and Shin Baik, AI Platform Center (APC) Group Head at Samsung Electronics.
Samsung shared its trust-by-design philosophy, emphasizing that AI should be predictable, transparent, and firmly under user control. “When it comes to AI, users are looking for transparency and control,” Miller said. “They want to understand whether an AI model is running locally or in the cloud, know that their data is secure, and clearly see what is powered by AI and what is not. That level of visibility builds confidence.”
Samsung highlighted how its approach balances on-device AI, which keeps personal data local whenever possible, with selective cloud-based intelligence for tasks requiring greater scale or speed—delivering flexibility without compromising privacy.
Security Built for an AI-Driven World
As intelligence becomes distributed across smartphones, TVs, home appliances, and other connected devices, the panel underscored the need for security frameworks that evolve alongside AI.

Samsung pointed to its Knox security platform, which now protects billions of devices from the chipset level upward, and Knox Matrix, a cross-device security system that enables devices to authenticate and protect one another within an ecosystem.
“Trust in AI starts with security that’s proven, not promised,” Shin Baik said. “Samsung Knox has provided deeply embedded protection for over a decade. But trust today goes beyond a single device—it requires an ecosystem that actively safeguards itself. With Knox Matrix, each device becomes a shield for the others, creating a resilient and secure environment users can rely on.”
A Cross-Industry Conversation on the Future of Trust
The discussion also explored how trust grows when AI behaves consistently and predictably across devices, offering users clear signals of control rather than opaque “black box” systems. Samsung emphasized the importance of collaboration, citing partnerships with industry leaders such as Google and Microsoft to strengthen shared security research, interoperability, and ecosystem-wide protection.

Miller reiterated the importance of transparency, advocating for clear labeling of AI-powered features and greater visibility into how data is used and where AI models operate. Kass acknowledged the risks posed by misinformation and misuse but remained optimistic: “For every risk, there is also a countermeasure, and technology itself will play a critical role in mitigating AI’s downsides.”
Webb offered a consumer-focused perspective, noting that while trust matters, convenience often drives adoption. “People don’t buy things because of trust alone,” she said. “They buy because something makes their lives easier. If AI delivers real convenience, that’s what brings people in.”
As AI continues to fade into the background of daily life, the panel concluded that long-term trust will belong to technologies designed from the outset with security, transparency, and meaningful user choice at their core.
