Pay Travel Tax Instantly with the eGov PH Super App

Filipino travelers flying abroad can now breeze through airports with greater ease, thanks to a new digital breakthrough: the integration of travel tax payment into the eGov PH Super App.

On July 24, 2025, the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) formally sealed this milestone with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing at the Manila Marriott Hotel in Pasay City.

Leading the ceremonial signing were TIEZA COO Mark T. Lapid and DICT Undersecretary Christina Condez-de Sagon, representing DICT Secretary Henry Aguda. They were joined by DICT Undersecretary David Almirol Jr., DOT Undersecretary Shahlimar Hofer Tamano, ARTA Secretary Ernesto Perez, and TIEZA Assistant COO Joy M. Bulauitan.

Travel Tax, Now Just a Tap Away

This integration means outbound Filipino travelers can now pay their TIEZA travel tax anytime, anywhere via the eGov PH Super App. By tapping “TIEZA Travel Tax” under the app’s “National Government Agencies (NGAs)” section, users are taken to a streamlined payment portal that accepts multiple methods—from credit cards to e-wallets.

Upon completion, a digital acknowledgment receipt is instantly emailed to the user—eliminating the need for printed copies and expediting verification at airport counters and immigration checks.

Linked with eTravel System for Even More Convenience

The system is seamlessly connected to the eTravel platform, a unified portal that combines immigration, health, customs, and now travel tax declarations into a single digital interface.

Using API integration, the platform automatically confirms payment or exemption—no physical receipts or certificates needed. It also pre-fills traveler data based on previously submitted eTravel forms. Passengers just enter their flight details and confirm their tax payment or exemption status.

Once verified, a QR code is issued for use at immigration—helping cut long queues and wait times at airports.

“This is digital transformation in action,” said COO Mark Lapid. “Less paperwork, less waiting time, and more focus on the journey ahead. We are making travel easier for every Filipino, wherever they are in the world.”

DICT Undersecretary Condez-de Sagon emphasized the collaborative nature of the initiative, calling it a true example of digital bayanihan: “Lahat ng ahensya ng gobyerno ay nagsasama-sama para sa mas mabilis at maayos na serbisyo sa publiko.”

The initiative supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s vision of a “whole-of-government” approach to public service—one that is efficient, inclusive, and technology-driven.
