AirAsia Philippines is urging Undas travelers to plan ahead by taking advantage of its flexible baggage options, which allow passengers to check in an unlimited number of bags.

As Filipinos gear up to head to the provinces for the holiday, many are expected to carry extra items for family reunions. AirAsia offers checked baggage allowances ranging from 15kg to 60kg. Passengers can divide this total weight across as many bags as they want, provided no individual piece exceeds 32kg.

Significant Savings Through Pre-Booking

The airline strongly advises travelers to book their baggage allocation ahead of time to avoid hefty fees at the gate.

• Save up to PHP 919 by purchasing baggage allowances online rather than waiting until arriving at the airport counter.

• Flexible timing allows passengers to add baggage to their booking up to two hours prior to their scheduled departure.

Strict Hand-Carry Rules Remain in Place

For carry-on luggage, AirAsia maintains standard limits to ensure a smooth boarding process. Passengers are permitted to bring one cabin bag and one small personal item onboard, with a strict combined weight limit of 7kg. The airline encourages all flyers to review these guidelines before heading to the terminal to ensure a hassle-free journey.

Check in online and allow extra time at the airport

Because travel crowds are expected to swell during the festive season, passengers should arrive at the airport early to navigate longer lines at check-in, security, and border control.

To beat the rush, AirAsia strongly recommends that all travelers—including those flying in large parties—use the AirAsia MOVE app or official website to check in before arriving. This online portal opens 14 days prior to travel and closes just one hour before flight time.

Keep in mind that physical airport counters stop accepting guests exactly one hour ahead of international flights and 45 minutes before domestic flights.

To ensure a stress-free trip, the airline advises flyers to drop off their luggage and head straight to their designated departure gates without delay.

Guests may also check their flight status through www.airasia.com/flightstatus before heading to the airport.

Please take note of the following special requirements:

  • Guests with reduced mobility or special needs are required to check in at the airport counter.
  • Guests who are pregnant or traveling with existing medical conditions must bring relevant medical certificates or documents clearing them for air travel, to be presented upon check-in.

Passengers flying with AirAsia Philippines out of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) should keep in mind that all domestic flights depart from Terminal 2, whereas all international flights take off from Terminal 1.

Caticlan, Bacolod, and Iloilo among destinations seeing stronger bookings

With one week left until Undas, AirAsia Philippines is recording a surge in domestic ticket sales as flyers head home to visit family or head out for a holiday vacation.

The airline reports that beach destinations like Caticlan and regional hubs like Bacolod and Iloilo are seeing the strongest booking momentum. Conversely, inbound routes to Manila from cities like Cagayan de Oro are also experiencing high traffic, indicating heavy passenger demand flowing in both directions for the long weekend.

AirAsia Philippines anticipates that passenger volumes and flight occupancy will continue to climb as the holiday approaches and late shoppers lock in their itineraries.

To avoid rising airfares and ensure a spot on preferred flight schedules, the carrier urges travelers to book their seats as early as possible.
