Rising Japanese boy group ONE OR EIGHT steps into a defining new chapter with the release of their first mini album, GATHER — a bold, high-impact project that consolidates the standout tracks of their debut era alongside powerful new material.

Driven by fearless experimentation, global sonic influences, and a clear message of unity and ambition, GATHER crystallizes the group’s mission to move “from Japan to the world” as a next-generation force in pop.
Reconstructing “Japanese Cool”
With GATHER, ONE OR EIGHT reimagines the essence of Japanese cool — infusing it with raw youth culture, international production finesse, and a restless drive for evolution. Across eight tracks, the album explores creative chaos as a catalyst for reinvention. Individual identities collide, align, and ultimately “gather” into collective momentum — a sonic blueprint for the group’s ascent.
A Track-by-Track Surge of Energy
The album launches at full throttle with “TOKYO DRIFT,” an electrifying opener built around the instantly recognizable engine-rev motif from Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift. Fusing high-speed electronic production with seamless Japanese-English lyricism, the track channels acceleration, ambition, and the thrill of betting on oneself. It’s cinematic, kinetic, and unapologetically bold — a statement of arrival.

Momentum builds with “Don’t Tell Nobody,” crafted alongside global hitmakers Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic) and David Stewart (BTS, Jonas Brothers), and mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Josh Gudwin. Infectious pop melodies collide with sharp rap cadences, delivering a polished yet rebellious global sound. Its music video amplifies the group’s “HAPPY BADBOY” energy, transforming ordinary spaces into playful acts of disruption through striking visuals and dynamic drone cinematography.
“DSTM” reinvents Rihanna’s iconic “Don’t Stop the Music,” produced by the original hitmakers Stargate. Blending tight, contemporary beats with shimmering Y2K textures, the track bridges nostalgia and modernity. Japanese and English lyrics reinforce ONE OR EIGHT’s mantra: as long as the music plays, their momentum never stops.
A thematic centerpiece, “POWER” — previously released as the ending theme for Yoroi Shinden Samurai Troopers — underscores resilience and unity. With aggressive urban-pop production layered in hip-hop, trap, R&B, and club-driven elements, the track reflects strength rediscovered through adversity and the bonds that sustain it. It marks a clear evolution in both emotional depth and sonic maturity.
One of the album’s most defining moments arrives with “KAWASAKI (with Big Sean).” Originally a viral pre-debut hit surpassing 10 million YouTube views in ten days, the revitalized version features a commanding verse from seven-time BET Award winner and six-time Grammy nominee Big Sean. Jersey Club rhythms, booming 808s, and global rap finesse converge, signaling ONE OR EIGHT’s expanding international footprint.
“Young & Reckless” captures the group’s unfiltered confidence. Produced by Kavi and Edwin Honoret, the track blends soulful vocals, trap-inflected beats, and nostalgic undertones into an anthem of fearless self-expression and bold ambition.
That defiance sharpens in “BET YOUR LIFE.” Gritty guitars, industrial trap textures, emo-tinged atmospheres, and razor-edged rap verses create a hard-hitting declaration of conviction. Anchored by the line “You can bet your life,” the track urges listeners to commit fully to their chosen path — no hesitation, no retreat.
Closing the album, “365” shifts into a warmer, more intimate register. Inspired by the year-long WARPs DIG project that shaped their beginnings, the song is a heartfelt tribute to the bond between ONE OR EIGHT and their fans. With lyrics by Nasri and a clean, pop-forward production influenced by American R&B and soul, the track allows their vocals to take center stage, delivering a tender and memorable finale.
The Blueprint of a Global Ascent
Across its eight tracks, GATHER solidifies ONE OR EIGHT’s artistic identity: daring, globally attuned, emotionally resonant, and unapologetically experimental. The project positions them not merely as a rising Japanese boy group, but as a globally ambitious act ready to scale beyond borders.
