Mang Inasal Strengthens Commitment to Filipino Youth via Rappler Roadshow

Mang Inasal, the Philippines’ Grill Expert, reinforced its commitment to nation-building and youth empowerment by supporting Rappler’s #AmbagNatin: Engage for Change civic empowerment roadshow—a multi-city initiative held across Zamboanga, Pangasinan, and Metro Manila from September to October 2025.

Designed to encourage active civic participation, the roadshow brought together citizens, community leaders, local officials, and young changemakers to address quality-of-life issues affecting Filipino communities. Across its three legs, discussions and activities focused on governance, media literacy, climate resilience, public safety, education, cost of living, and responsible digital engagement—topics that resonate strongly with everyday Filipino experiences.

As a key partner and sponsor, Mang Inasal supported Rappler’s mission to create safe, inclusive spaces for dialogue, learning, and community-driven storytelling. The first leg, held from September 3 to 6 in partnership with Ateneo de Zamboanga University and Now You Know, featured a public forum with local government and civil society leaders. Select youth participants also took part in workshops that trained them as Rappler “Movers,” civic engagement volunteers focused on community journalism and local storytelling.

The initiative continued in Metro Manila on September 16 at Far Eastern University, in observance of Grandparents’ Day. Titled “Lolo at Lola Laban Sa Scam,” the intergenerational forum centered on media literacy, fact-checking, and digital safety. Senior citizens and younger family members were equipped with practical tools to protect themselves against scams and disinformation, highlighting the importance of informed and responsible online engagement across generations.

The roadshow concluded in Pangasinan from September 29 to October 2, in partnership with Pangasinan State University and the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan. Students and aspiring storytellers participated in hands-on journalism workshops, while a public forum in Dagupan gathered citizens and local leaders to discuss pressing regional concerns, including climate resilience, transportation, education, and fisherfolk welfare.
