The track marks the group’s third anime collaboration, building on their previous theme song contributions to Rurouni Kenshin and The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess.

TOKYO — EXILE TRIBE’s seven-member dance and vocal group, KID PHENOMENON, has officially dropped the music video for “I’m still breathing,” the featured ending theme for the second part of Mission: Yozakura Family Season 2. Initially launched on digital platforms on October 12, 2026, the single perfectly captures the anime’s high-stakes universe of espionage, deep family ties, and the relentless drive to protect loved ones.
Custom-tailored for the series, the song masterfully contrasts fierce determination with a sense of quiet isolation, mirroring main character Taiyo Asano’s resolve to guard his family. This emotional duality mirrors the core themes of the popular spy-comedy anime, which is adapted from Hitsuji Gondaira’s smash-hit manga boasting over 3.6 million copies in print.
KID PHENOMENON shared: “We are truly honored to have the opportunity to perform the ending theme for Mission: Yozakura Family. ‘I’m still breathing’ is a song that reflects the determination of the protagonist, Taiyo Asano, who never gives up and continues to face challenges no matter the circumstances. This work reminded us of the important values that resonate in the real world, such as the feelings we have for our families and the love that drives us to protect those who are precious to us.”
Helmed by acclaimed director Keisuke Nakashima—celebrated for his collaborations with Mrs. GREEN APPLE, Travis Japan, and LIL LEAGUE—the music video for “I’m still breathing” navigates the intricate spectrum of human emotion. By juxtaposing breathtaking natural scenery against sharp, minimalist backdrops, the visual narrative captures the delicate balance between hope and vulnerability, ultimately serving as a celebration of the human experience.
This visual release builds on the momentum of the group’s highly successful sophomore album, KIDS00’s, which debuted on June 17, 2026, and climbed to the No. 2 spot on the Oricon Weekly Albums Chart. The 12-track project boasts standout fan favorites such as “KIDS,” “Mirror,” and “Black Flame.”
Anime enthusiasts are likely already familiar with KID PHENOMENON through their track “Existence,” which served as the ending theme for the 2023 adaptation of Rurouni Kenshin. The hit single peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 and dominated the top spot on Spotify’s weekly Viral chart for two straight weeks. Additionally, the group lent their talents to Studio Deen’s The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess, performing the high-energy opening theme song, “Black Flame.”
“We poured our hearts into singing this song, hoping to contribute, even in a small way, to bringing this beloved story to life. We hope that fans of the original manga will come to love ‘I’m still breathing’ alongside the anime,” added KID PHENOMENON.
Beyond anime, the group has taken their energy to stages beyond Japan recently. On 3 October 2026, KID PHENOMENON made their Music Matters Live debut at CQ @ Clarke Quay in Singapore, where they introduced their “TOKYO NEO POP” identity to international audiences. Earlier in March 2026, the group marked an important international milestone with their performance at SXSW, in Austin, Texas.

“I’m still breathing” music video premiered on KID PHENOMENON’s official YouTube channel at 12:00 AM JST on October 22 and is now available to watch here: MV link.
