A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS RENEWED FOR SEASON TWO AND HOUSE OF THE DRAGON RENEWED FOR SEASON FOUR

During a press presentation held yesterday in New York City, Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO and HBO Max Content, officially announced the renewal of two series from the Game of Thrones franchise. Both A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and House of the Dragon will continue their epic runs through 2028, with all new seasons airing on HBO and streaming on HBO Max.
The HBO Original half-hour drama A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has already been renewed for a second season ahead of its highly anticipated series premiere on Monday, January 19. Season two is set to debut in 2027, signaling strong confidence in the new Westeros chapter before audiences even meet its heroes.
Meanwhile, the fire continues to burn brighter in House of the Dragon. The third season of the HBO Original drama series is scheduled to premiere in Summer 2026. Ahead of its return, HBO has confirmed a fourth season, slated for release in 2028, extending the saga of House Targaryen even further.
Francesca Orsi, EVP of HBO Programming and Head of HBO Drama Series and Films, shared her excitement about the renewals:
“We are thrilled to be able to deliver new seasons of these two series for the next three years, for the legion of fans of the Game of Thrones universe. Together, House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms reveal just how expansive and richly imagined George R. R. Martin’s universe continues to be. In January, I think audiences will be delighted by the inspiring underdog tale of Dunk and Egg that George and Ira Parker have so beautifully captured. And this summer, House of the Dragon is set to ignite once again with some of its most epic battles yet.”
