MANILA, Philippines — Fresh off their groundbreaking debut as the first P-Pop group to play at Lollapalooza, SB19 has been selected for Spotify’s global series The Come Up. The digital audio platform is spotlighting the Filipino quintet to document and celebrate the pivotal moments of their international breakthrough.

SB19 is much more than a one-hit wonder. Their streaming narrative is defined by sustainable growth rather than a lone breakout moment. Ever since “GENTO” put them on the global map, the quintet has anchored a permanent audience of 1.4 million plus monthly Spotify listeners worldwide—a feat sustained through consistent drops, cross-border partnerships, and strategic playlist placements.

SB19’s trajectory over the last six years is nothing short of historic. When they debuted as part of Spotify’s RADAR Philippines launch in March 2020, they commanded 141,489 monthly listeners. Fast forward six years later to their monumental Lollapalooza performance, and that number has exploded to over 1.4 million monthly listeners, driven by Spotify’s editorial playlists bridging each musical era to fresh audiences.

SB19’s rise is a masterclass in genre-defining success and global crossover. Their hit “MAPA” secured a permanent place on Spotify’s Tatak Pinoy playlist, while “GENTO” exploded across Viral Hits Philippines, nearly quadrupling the group’s monthly listeners in just three months. When Spotify introduced the P-Pop On The Rise playlist to give the genre its own dedicated home, SB19 naturally served as its inaugural cover artist. This momentum quickly went global, leading to cross-border milestones like introducing a Tagalog verse to a JVKE track and landing on the cover of Hot Hits Japan via their collaboration with BE:FIRST on “Toyfriend.”

“The more places SB19 showed up on Spotify, the more their audience grew and stuck around. Our playlists like Tatak Pinoy, P-Pop On The Rise, and Viral Hits Philippines are how millions of listeners discover what to listen to next. And what stands out with SB19 is that every era gave us a reason to champion them again. Each time, the audience got bigger and stayed longer. From playlists to podcasts to a first-of-its-kind Listening Party that drew fans from around the world, it’s exciting to see an artist and their fans growing together on Spotify,” – Chesca Tan, Lead Editor for Spotify Philippines.

The bond between SB19 and their fandom, A’TIN, is a driving force behind their streaming dominance. Fans stayed deeply connected through the exclusive Spotify podcast Atin Atin Lang and custom events like the Pagsibol-era “A’TIN ‘To!” jeepney art activation. Proving their collective power, 20,000 fans flooded Spotify’s first-ever listening party for a Filipino artist. Meanwhile, Spotify’s algorithmic engines—like Discover Weekly, Release Radar, and the AI DJ—continuously channeled SB19’s music to an entirely new wave of casual listeners worldwide.

Looking back on their monumental journey, the members of SB19 remain deeply grounded and grateful for the global community that has risen around them. Reflecting on their milestone year and their roots, SB19 shares  “When we debuted eight years ago, we never imagined performing at international festivals or hearing fans around the world sing our songs back to us. A’TIN has been with us through every chapter, and Spotify has helped more listeners discover our music. Every milestone reminds us how far we’ve come and motivates us to keep creating music that makes Filipinos proud.”
