Global AI device ecosystem company HONOR has announced a strategic partnership with BYD, the world’s leading new-energy vehicle manufacturer, marking a major step toward the next era of intelligent, AI-driven mobility.

The partnership brings together HONOR’s advanced vehicle connectivity solutions with BYD’s next-generation DiLink smart ecosystem, creating a seamless, human-centric experience that integrates devices, vehicles, and everyday life through AI innovation.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by James Li, CEO of HONOR, and Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD Group. Fang Fei, President of Products at HONOR, and Yang Dongsheng, Senior Vice President of BYD and President of the Automotive New Technology Research Institute, formally signed the agreement on behalf of their respective companies. The event marked the beginning of deeper cooperation in the field of intelligent mobility.

“This partnership is more than a technological collaboration — it’s a shared vision for the future of smart living,” said James Li, CEO of HONOR. “At HONOR, we believe that true innovation comes from combining human-centric design with intelligent technology. Together with BYD, we’re committed to redefining mobility through AI-driven experiences that enhance every journey and elevate daily life.”
Three Pillars of Collaboration
The HONOR-BYD partnership will advance through three strategic pillars:
- Core Technology and Features: Co-developing innovations in cross-device ecosystem integration, AI agent functions, and high-precision Bluetooth-based digital car keys.
- Channel Ecosystem and User Benefits: Creating a unified ecosystem that leverages HONOR’s connected vehicle solutions and BYD’s smart vehicle platforms to ensure seamless interoperability and optimized user experience.
- Joint Communication and Engagement: Coordinating joint marketing efforts, launch events, and user engagement initiatives around key product milestones.
Expanding a Proven Partnership
The collaboration between HONOR and BYD began in 2023 with the introduction of smartphone NFC car keys, enabling BYD owners to lock and unlock their vehicles using HONOR smartphones. The partnership expanded in 2024 to include in-vehicle fast charging.
In 2025, the relationship deepens further as DENZA becomes the first brand to adopt HONOR Car Connect, with plans to expand across other BYD brands — enhancing cross-device interaction and ensuring seamless service continuity.
Paving the Way for the AI Era
This partnership underscores a shared commitment to developing AI-powered, human-centric mobility solutions. Moving forward, both companies will continue to advance innovations in phone-to-car connectivity, digital keys, and safety-enhancing smart features — all designed to make mobility more intelligent, secure, and intuitive.
The collaboration’s achievements will be showcased at the 2025 HONOR Global Developers Conference and AI Device Ecosystem Conference on October 23, where HONOR will also highlight its HONOR AI Connect platform — a key enabler of human-centric, scenario-based AI ecosystem solutions.
Together, HONOR and BYD are driving the evolution of AI-enabled mobility, setting the stage for a new era of connected, intelligent, and empowering smart living.
