Lalamove partner drivers in Metro Manila have begun receiving their ₱5,000 government cash relief assistance, as the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) rolls out its special payout program in Las Piñas City.

The multi-day distribution, held at The Tent along Gatchalian Drive, kicked off on May 19, with more than 6,000 eligible Lalamove partner drivers receiving assistance on the first day alone. By the end of the three-day payout, the initiative aims to support over 30,000 drivers, forming part of the government’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program for transport network company (TNC) drivers who have yet to receive aid.

Coordinated Effort for a Large-Scale Payout

Given the scale of the operation, early coordination between Lalamove and DSWD was critical. Weeks ahead of the rollout, both parties aligned driver data, scheduled payout slots, and issued clear communications to ensure eligible beneficiaries knew when to go and what requirements to bring.

On-site, Lalamove deployed dedicated support systems—including help desks, assistance booths, and personnel to manage queues and provide real-time guidance. The company also worked closely with DSWD teams to streamline verification and payout processes.

To maintain order and safety, coordination extended to local government units, traffic enforcers, the Philippine National Police (PNP), venue staff, and medical responders.

Supporting Drivers Beyond Financial Aid

Beyond facilitating payouts, Lalamove ensured partner drivers had access to additional services during the event. Food and refreshments were provided, while partner booths—including Pag-IBIG, Hyundai, and GCash—were made available to assist drivers with other concerns and services.

Drivers received schedule notifications through multiple official channels, including the Lalamove driver app, SMS alerts, and the company’s Liga ng Mga Bossing Facebook page. Printed guides, FAQs, and onsite instructions further helped streamline the process.

“We are grateful to the DSWD for staying true to their ‘Walang Maiiwan’ directive and ensuring this vital support reaches our partner drivers,” said Djon Nacario. “Our priority is to provide a smooth, orderly, and safe experience so our driver community can access their assistance with ease and confidence.”

Ongoing Nationwide Rollout

The Lalamove payout follows similar distributions conducted for other TNC drivers, with the government leading the aid program while companies like Lalamove handle communication, coordination, and onsite support for their respective communities.

Drivers who missed their assigned schedules are advised to visit the Lalamove help desk at the venue or monitor official channels for updates. Meanwhile, Lalamove continues to coordinate with DSWD for upcoming payout schedules outside Metro Manila.

Through this collaborative effort, both public and private sectors are working hand in hand to ensure that essential support reaches those who need it most—efficiently, safely, and without leaving anyone behind.
