Helmed by director Sue Kim, the highly anticipated documentary will offer fans a limited big-screen experience before making its way to digital platforms. Audiences looking to secure their seats can purchase tickets for the theatrical screenings starting Wednesday, September 9, directly through the film’s official website at AlwaysLaLisa.com.

LISA fans, mark your calendars! Sony Music Vision has revealed that the global superstar’s highly anticipated feature documentary, Always Lalisa, is hitting theaters and IMAX screens worldwide. This special cinematic event begins a limited run on October 12 via Trafalgar Releasing, serving as the ultimate prelude to its exclusive YouTube Premium streaming debut later this year. Tickets officially drop on September 9 at www.AlwaysLaLisa.com, so prepare to secure your seats early.

Under the direction of Sue Kim, the film provides an intimate look at a critical year of self-discovery for LISA. Stepping away from her commitments with BLACKPINK for the first time since her early years, she embraces a temporary period of independence. The documentary follows her as she faces the challenges of building a solo career, pursuing acting roles, and expanding her brand under immense public scrutiny, while simultaneously trying to balance her massive stardom with a normal personal life.

As one of the world’s most recognizable icons, LISA’s career has reached unprecedented heights. Her recent milestones include making history as the first female K-pop and Thai artist to perform at the FIFA World Cup, where she took the stage at the 2026 opening ceremony alongside Anitta and Rema to perform “Goals.”

This follows her solo performance at Coachella 2025, gracing the cover of Vanity Fair’s Summer 2026 issue, and becoming the first K-pop star to serve on the Met Gala host committee. Beyond her massive music achievements—including presenting at the 2026 Golden Globes—LISA has seamlessly transitioned into Hollywood. Following her acting debut in HBO’s The White Lotus, she is set to star in and executive produce the Netflix action film TYGO, with a “Notting Hill”-inspired romantic comedy also currently in development for the platform.

Adding to her busy schedule, LISA recently announced her upcoming EP, PRESS PLAY, scheduled for release on October 23. Fans already got their first taste of the project with the lead single “SaWaDika,” which dropped on Thursday, September 3. On top of her new music, the superstar is breaking barriers as the first K-pop artist to secure a Las Vegas concert residency. Demand for the historic event was unprecedented, with all four dates of her VIVA LA LISA run at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace—set for November 13–14 and November 27–28, 2026—selling out completely in under 10 minutes.

“LISA’s music resonates with fans across the globe and we hope this film creates that same powerful connection,” said Tom Mackay, President, Sony Music Vision. “Alongside its theatrical release, we’re thrilled to partner with YouTube Premium to bring this intimate look at her incredible journey directly to audiences around the world, wherever they are.”

“Always Lalisa gives fans an unguarded look at LISA’s trajectory from BLACKPINK stardom into one of the most recognized artists in the world,” said Marc Allenby, CEO of Trafalgar Releasing.  “BLINKS have been waiting for this story and we are proud to give them the opportunity to celebrate her incredible journey together in cinemas worldwide.”

“LISA is an absolute force of nature who has built an incredibly special connection with her fans at her home on YouTube. She is constantly pushing boundaries and redefining what it means to be a global superstar,” said Lyor Cohen, Global Head of Music, YouTube. “There’s no better place to share her story than on YouTube, giving her millions of fans a front-row seat to her evolution as an artist.”

Following its highly anticipated world premiere at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival, Always Lalisa is scheduled to make its global theatrical debut this October. Later in the year, the documentary will transition to digital screens, becoming available for global streaming exclusively on YouTube Premium.
