Renowned music composer Yasunori Nishiki, known for his melodic and upbeat soundtracks in games like Octopath Traveler and Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, has entered new creative territory with his latest project, Silver and Blood. In a recent video interview, Nishiki discusses what it was like to compose his first-ever dark-themed soundtrack.
“I’ve composed music for many RPGs before, but this is my first time working on a title with such a dark overall tone, which made this project a completely new challenge for me. I hope to bring out the best of my abilities and create music that would live up to the game’s artistic vision,” Nishiki shares in the video.
Gothic Ambience and Immersive Worldbuilding
Published by MOONTON Games, Silver and Blood immerses players in a gothic vampire-themed world called Children of the Moon. The music plays a vital role in enhancing this otherworldly atmosphere, blending melancholic tones with narrative-driven melodies.
“In the story segments, the focus is on delivering the narrative to the player. Here, music takes on a more supportive role, subtly enhancing the mood from the background to help players fully immerse themselves in the story,” Nishiki explains.
The soundtrack complements the game’s deep storytelling, stunning art style, and rich worldbuilding. “When I first saw the Silver and Blood project proposal, I was immediately drawn to its stunning art style, rich worldbuilding, and deep narratives. It’s a work with remarkable depth and content,” Nishiki adds.

Upcoming Events: Open Beta & Official Theme Song
MOONTON Games has confirmed that the open beta test for Silver and Blood will go live on 26 June 2025. Fans can soon explore the dark fantasy world and its strategic nine-grid turn-based combat system.
Additionally, the game’s official theme song, titled “Broken”, will be performed by Japanese pop sensation Milet on June 13. Known for her hit track “Inside You” which received Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), Milet’s powerful vocals will bring emotional depth to the game’s musical identity. An official music video for “Broken” is also on the way.
