Are you a composer with a passion for choral music? This is your chance to shine on an international stage.
The Andrea O. Veneracion International Choral Festival (AOVICF) is now accepting entries for its first-ever Choral Composition Competition, open until May 30, 2025, at 11:59 PM (GMT+8).

Named in honor of National Artist and founder of the world-renowned Philippine Madrigal Singers, the AOVICF is dedicated to cultivating musical excellence and inspiring creativity both in the Philippines and abroad.
Open Call for Composers Worldwide
The competition is open to all composers worldwide, amateur or professional, aged 18 years and above. However, employees of the Cultural Center of the Philippines and current or former members of the Philippine Madrigal Singers are not eligible.
Each composer may submit one original and unpublished SATB a cappella composition, suitable for an intermediate-level choir. Here are the guidelines:
- Maximum of two divisi per voice part
- Duration: 3.5 to 6 minutes
- Solo sections allowed (up to 30% of total length)
- Texts in any language are welcome (with English translation required)
- If using copyrighted text, written permission from the copyright holder is necessary
- All scores must be notated using standard music notation software
How to Submit
Entries must be sent via email to secretariat@aovchoralfestph.com with the subject:
“AOVICF 2025 Composition Competition”.
A registration fee is required upon submission:
- PHP 2,000 for Filipino composers
- USD 40 for non-Filipino composers

Awards and Recognition
- Grand Prize: PHP 50,000 and a certificate
- Two runners-up: Certificates
- The Top 3 compositions will be performed by the Philippine Madrigal Singers during the AOVICF 2025 Closing Concert on August 24, 2025.
The Grand Prize-winning work will be under exclusive performance and publication rights of AOVICF for two years and must not be publicly performed before AOVICF 2027. All submissions will be judged anonymously, and decisions are final.
This competition is a joint project of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) through its Artist Training Division and the Philippine Madrigal Singers, the first Asian choir to win the prestigious European Grand Prix for Choral Singing twice (1997, 2007).
