Vice Ganda and Nadine Lustre reunite on the big screen in the highly anticipated comedy-drama “Call Me Mother,” an official entry to the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival, opening in cinemas nationwide starting December 25.

The film’s excitement reached a fever pitch following the release of its official trailer, which racked up an impressive 20 million views in just over 24 hours across social media platforms. The hashtag #CallMeMotherFullTrailer also surged to the top of nationwide trending topics after its December 2 release, cementing the film as one of the season’s most talked-about titles.
Directed by award-winning filmmaker Jun Robles Lana, “Call Me Mother” explores the depth and complexity of motherhood—highlighting themes of unconditional love, sacrifice, commitment, and redemption in a story that promises both heartfelt laughter and emotional resonance for families this Christmas season.

At the center of the film are two mothers with contrasting journeys. Twinkle (Vice Ganda) is a former queen maker who becomes a fiercely loving queer adoptive mother to Angelo (Lucas Andalio), proving that motherhood is not defined by biology, but by choice, devotion, and love.
Opposite her is Mara (Nadine Lustre), Angelo’s biological mother—a former teen pageant prodigy turned high-fashion model—who lives with lingering regret after abandoning her child years earlier in pursuit of her dreams.
As Twinkle prepares to move abroad for a new job, she reaches out to Mara to finalize Angelo’s adoption. However, Mara agrees to sign the papers only under one condition: Twinkle must help her win the country’s biggest beauty pageant. What begins as a reluctant agreement soon turns complicated as Mara grows closer to Angelo, forcing Twinkle to confront what it truly means to be a mother.
From hesitation to wholehearted acceptance, the film raises a poignant question: Can Twinkle fulfill her promise to Mara while protecting the family she has built with Angelo?

The film boasts a strong ensemble cast, including Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab housemates Klarisse De Guzman, Mika Salamanca, Brent Manalo, Esnyr Ranollo, River Joseph, and Shuvee Etrata, alongside veteran and scene-stealing performers Chanda Romero, Carmi Martin, Ces Quesada, John “Sweet” Lapus, MC Muah, Iyah Mina, Jennifer Sevilla, Robert Ortega, Tanya Gomez, and Divine Tetay.
Produced by Star Cinema, The IdeaFirst Company, and Viva Films, “Call Me Mother” celebrates the many forms of motherhood—imperfect, courageous, and deeply human.
Experience a story that embraces love beyond labels in “Call Me Mother,” showing in cinemas nationwide beginning December 25.
