Kapamilya Stars Dominate 38th Aliw Awards

ABS-CBN artists and creatives made a strong showing at the 38th Aliw Awards, earning top honors for their outstanding contributions to the Philippine concert and theater scene.

Singer-songwriter Maki emerged as one of the evening’s biggest winners, taking home Best Director for a Major Concert and Best Male Artist in a Major Concert for his sold-out show, “Kolorcoaster,” which was lauded for its creativity, musicality, and compelling stage direction.

Adding to the network’s triumphs, Jonathan Manalo, ABS-CBN Music’s head of creatives, content, and operations, was recognized as Best Composer for Original Musical Theater for “Delia D.” The acclaimed production showcased his songwriting prowess and significant impact on contemporary Filipino musical theater.

ASAP icons also dominated major categories. Regine Velasquez was named Best Female Artist in a Major Concert, while Ogie Alcasid received the award for Best Group Ensemble Performance in a Concert. Meanwhile, Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez were honored with Best Collaboration in a Major Concert, celebrating their enduring chemistry and excellence on stage.

Legendary performers Gary Valenciano, Jed Madela, and Zsa Zsa Padilla were bestowed Lifetime Achievement Awards, recognizing their invaluable and lasting contributions to Philippine music and entertainment.

In theater, Star Magic artist Nikki Valdez earned Best Lead Actress in a Musical for her powerful performance in “Next to Normal,” further highlighting ABS-CBN’s presence across diverse performance platforms.

The Aliw Awards Foundation continues to honor excellence in live entertainment, recognizing the country’s most outstanding talents in concerts, theater, and major performance events.
