The skies above New Clark City, Tarlac came alive from February 13 to 15, 2026, as the 26th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta delivered three unforgettable days of aviation excellence, thrilling competitions, and meaningful community engagement.

Known as “The Weekend of Everything That Flies,” this year’s edition proved once again that the Fiesta is more than a spectacle—it is a celebration of dreams taking flight.

22 Special-Shaped Balloons Paint the Morning Sky
A breathtaking lineup of 22 special-shaped hot air balloons from around the world headlined the festival. From whimsical character inflatables to towering novelty designs, the balloons transformed the dawn sky into a vibrant canvas of color during the much-anticipated mass ascensions.
Thousands of spectators gathered at sunrise, watching in awe as the balloons gracefully lifted off, symbolizing creativity, precision, and the enduring magic of flight.

International Champions and High-Speed Competitions

Beyond the visual spectacle, the Fiesta showcased world-class competitions that highlighted both skill and strategy.
In the Hare and Hound hot air balloon competition, Thomas Grubbstrom of Sweden claimed the championship title, followed by Joao Justo of Brazil in second place and Coen Heuvel of The Netherlands in third.
On land and in the air, adrenaline surged through the festival grounds. The FPV Drone Race Competition featured standout performances from Minseo Lee of South Korea, Siyang Peng of China, and Chun-Yan Stephen Kwan of Hong Kong, demonstrating remarkable speed, control, and technical mastery.
Paragliding accuracy competitions also drew cheers from the crowd, with top teams and individual pilots displaying exceptional discipline and focus.
Inspiring the Next Generation of Aviators
True to its advocacy of promoting aviation education, the Fiesta hosted career talks and industry forums led by seasoned aviation professionals. These sessions offered aspiring pilots, air traffic controllers, cabin crew members, and aviation enthusiasts valuable insights into the diverse pathways within the industry.
Adding a heartfelt dimension to the event, the organizing committee extended complimentary invitations to 72 children and their guardians from partner orphanages. For many of the young guests, it was their first time witnessing hot air balloons and aerobatic displays up close—an experience that sparked joy, wonder, and perhaps future aspirations in aviation.
A Spectacular Night Glow and Concert Finale
As evening descended, the festival grounds transformed into a luminous wonderland during the much-awaited Night Glow. Balloons lit up in synchronized brilliance, creating a mesmerizing display against the night sky.
The celebration culminated in a high-energy concert and a grand fireworks finale that illuminated the Clark skyline. The dazzling close marked the triumphant end of another successful edition of the Fiesta—one that united families, aviation professionals, and dreamers under one sky.
More Than a Festival
With record participation, international competition winners, thrilling drone races, and meaningful community outreach, the 26th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta reaffirmed its status as one of the country’s premier aviation events.
More than just balloons filling the sky, the Fiesta remains a powerful movement—one that inspires dreams, fosters learning, strengthens community ties, and celebrates the limitless possibilities of flight.
