World Wellness Weekend (WWW) returns for its milestone 10th anniversary edition from September 18 to 20, 2026, uniting a massive global network of wellness professionals, municipalities, hotels, spas, fitness clubs, and community leaders across 187 countries.

What started in France and Belgium as a modest local initiative has grown into one of the world’s largest decentralized health and wellbeing movements. Reaching millions of participants across 2,000+ cities, the movement operates under a single shared mission: Wellness for All.

For its 10th anniversary, World Wellness Weekend aims to activate 15,000 venues worldwide, supported by over 150 Ambassadors and Coordinators, hosting more than 20,000 free and inclusive wellness experiences.

From sunrise yoga in Bali to sound healing sessions in London, forest bathing in Japan, and community fitness festivals in Argentina, the movement is transforming how communities prioritize health, mindfulness, and prevention.

A Decade of Transformation: Wellness as a Global Priority

The 10th edition reflects a fundamental global shift: wellness is no longer a luxury—it is essential.

Aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health & Wellbeing For All), World Wellness Weekend highlights a decade-long evolution where wellness has transitioned from a lifestyle trend into a key driver of public health, education, tourism, and economic growth.

According to the World Wellness Report 2026, the global wellness economy has expanded from $4.5 trillion to a projected $7 trillion by the end of 2026. Consumers worldwide are increasingly prioritizing prevention, resilience, and longevity over traditional luxury consumption.

The 5 Universal Pillars of WWW:

  • Vitality & Movement
  • Serenity & Mindfulness
  • Nutrition & Immunity
  • Sleep & Creativity
  • Purpose & Solidarity

“Connect. Recharge. Wellness is Energy: Turn Your Wellness ON!”

This year’s official theme emphasizes accessibility and everyday integration. World Wellness Weekend believes wellness should be joyful, inclusive, and part of daily life—not restricted to elite or exclusive spaces.

Over the three-day celebration, participating venues worldwide will open their doors to offer free fitness classes, mindfulness sessions, educational workshops, nature experiences, and community gatherings.

A Truly Global Footprint

In 2026, World Wellness Weekend spans every continent with unprecedented engagement:

  • Asia-Pacific: Japan plans to activate all 47 prefectures across 500+ venues, blending ancient traditions like forest bathing among 2,000-year-old cedar trees on Yakushima Island with modern fitness technology. In Southeast Asia, Indonesia will highlight regenerative wellness tourism in Bali (124 venues), while activations expand across the Philippines and region.
  • Europe: Backed by institutional support including the European Week of Sport (40 countries) and Italy’s Fondazione Sport City (116 cities). Major participating countries include Italy (635 venues), Spain (569 venues), and the United Kingdom (188 venues).
  • Americas: Brazil (197 venues) and Argentina (178 venues) lead large-scale community activations, while Mexico, Canada, and the United States expand public-private wellness initiatives through 90+ Planet Fitness locations.
  • Middle East & Africa: The UAE, Egypt, Senegal, South Africa, and Cabo Verde are expanding wellness tourism and public access programs.
  • Oceania: Australia and New Zealand continue to grow local participation through hot springs, resorts, and community wellbeing hubs.

The Rise of “Wellness Cities”

Cities around the globe are redefining urban living by designing environments focused on movement, mental health, and connection:

  • Marbella (Spain) is converting public parks and seafronts into open-air wellness stages.
  • Madrid (Spain) is activating schools, universities, and cultural institutions.
  • Tigre and Cabalango (Argentina) have officially declared WWW an “Event of Public Interest.”
  • Higashikawa (Japan) is embedding wellness directly into municipal healthcare systems.

Global Partnerships & Inclusive Access

World Wellness Weekend 2026 is reinforced by major international alliances, including:

  • Wellness in Travel & Tourism (WITT) and the Wellness Tourism Association (WTA)
  • World Cleanup Day (UN-recognized), merging environmental sustainability with personal health
  • European Week of Sport (European Commission)
  • Major hospitality partners including Marriott International, Accor, Banyan Group, Mandarin Oriental, Six Senses, Hyatt, and Hard Rock Hotels

“Wellness is not a luxury, but a collective responsibility. We need to think Global, act Local, and make wellness Social.”

Jean-Guy de Gabriac, Founder of World Wellness Weekend

To mark its 10th anniversary, World Wellness Weekend has also released the World Wellness Report 2026 (developed in partnership with CCIcomms), detailing a decade of international impact, community transformation, and public health progress.
