As travellers increasingly seek cooler, calmer options for their summer holidays and a slower way of switching off, Visit Finland is inviting a select number of people to experience summer as the locals do: immersed in nature, unhurried and in a ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode.

After being named the happiest country in the world for eight consecutive years by the United Nations World Happiness Report, Finland continues to draw global curiosity for its secret to well-being—balance, simplicity, and a deep connection with nature.
Now, Visit Finland is giving travelers the chance to experience that lifestyle firsthand with a unique opportunity to “chill like a Finn” in the breathtaking Finnish Lakeland.
A Once-in-a-Lifetime Nordic Escape

Six lucky duos from around the world will be selected for a seven-day, all-expenses-paid retreat in June 2026, immersing themselves in the serene landscapes where Finns go to truly unwind.
From lakeside cottages and peaceful forests to saunas and refreshing cold dips, the experience offers a rare glimpse into the Finnish way of life—where slowing down isn’t a luxury, but a necessity.
How to Join the “Chill Like a Finn” Challenge

To take part, aspiring participants must complete a two-step application process:
- Create a short video on Instagram or TikTok introducing themselves and sharing what a Finnish summer escape in Lakeland means to them.
- Submit the official application form via the campaign website.
Applications are open until March 29, 2026 (23:59 EEST), with full details and terms available on the official site.
Where Stillness Becomes the Ultimate Luxury
Set in Europe’s largest lake district, Finnish Lakeland offers a different kind of travel experience—one defined not by excess, but by space, stillness, and serenity.
Here, days are spent hiking through Kolovesi National Park, paddling across Lake Saimaa, or foraging in Koli National Park. Evenings bring quiet moments by the water, sauna rituals, and uninterrupted rest under the Nordic sky.
More than just a getaway, this initiative invites travelers to rediscover something often lost in modern life: the ability to pause, breathe, and simply be.
