In a meaningful move to champion mental well-being in the local entertainment sector, AKTOR — League of Filipino Actors has formalized a partnership with MindNation to provide comprehensive, long-term mental health support for its members.

The collaboration gives AKTOR members access to confidential, evidence-based services, including 24/7 teletherapy sessions with licensed professionals, crisis support, and mental health education programs. Preventive care is also a key focus, with tools such as mental health assessments and well-being workshops designed to promote early intervention and sustained wellness.
Putting People at the Center of the Industry
For AKTOR Chairman Dingdong Dantes, the partnership reflects a deeper commitment to caring for the people behind the performances.

“At AKTOR, we value partnerships that recognize the humanity behind every role,” he shared. “Mental health has long been a quiet but constant concern in our community. With MindNation, we can finally bring that conversation into the open—helping our actors stand stronger not just as performers, but as individuals.”
He added that the initiative aims to build a culture where Filipino actors feel seen, supported, and empowered—both onscreen and off.
A Proactive Approach to Well-Being
Echoing this vision, AKTOR President Iza Calzado emphasized the importance of early and proactive care.

“Mental health struggles are not always visible,” she said. “We cannot wait for a crisis before taking action. Our goal is to ensure our members have access to the right tools, resources, and safe spaces from the very beginning.”
Through this partnership, AKTOR strengthens its ability to provide meaningful, preventive support—ensuring that artists can care for their well-being not only as professionals, but as individuals.
Driving Advocacy and Breaking Stigma
Beyond service delivery, the collaboration is anchored in advocacy. Together, AKTOR and MindNation aim to leverage the influence of the entertainment industry to normalize conversations around mental health, dismantle stigma, and encourage early help-seeking behavior.
Through co-created campaigns, public engagements, and educational initiatives, the partnership seeks to model responsible mental health practices and promote a culture of openness and care.
For MindNation, the initiative aligns with its mission to make mental health support more accessible across all sectors.
“Mental health challenges may be invisible, but their impact is real,” shared Cat Triviño, Co-Founder and Chief Product and Data Officer. “By working with AKTOR, we hope to normalize these conversations and show that prioritizing mental well-being is a sign of strength and professionalism.”
Building a Healthier Creative Community
As the partnership takes shape, it marks a significant step toward creating a safer, more supportive environment for Filipino artists—one where mental health is treated with the same importance as physical well-being.
By combining professional support, preventive care, and advocacy, AKTOR — League of Filipino Actors and MindNation are helping pave the way for a healthier, more resilient creative community in the Philippines.
