VinFast Brings Green Vehicle Rentals to Indonesia & the Philippines

VinFast is expanding how drivers in Southeast Asia can access electric vehicles—introducing a new rental model alongside traditional ownership in Indonesia and the Philippines. The move is designed to lower the barrier to entry for ride-hailing and transport service drivers, accelerate the shift to greener mobility, and strengthen the brand’s commitment to reducing emissions across the region.

A more accessible path to going electric

With the new program, drivers can now rent vehicles from VinFast’s Green lineup through its authorized dealership network, giving them a practical alternative to outright purchase.

Launched amid ongoing fuel price volatility, the initiative allows drivers to get on the road faster with minimal upfront costs. Under the rental setup, they can start earning with a low deposit, long-term contracts, and fixed daily rates starting at IDR 312,500 in Indonesia and PHP 1,000 in the Philippines—offering predictability and faster income generation without the financial burden of ownership.

For those who prefer to own their vehicles, VinFast continues to offer financing solutions tailored for commercial use. These plans are structured to reduce initial payments while aligning repayment schedules with drivers’ earning patterns—helping improve cash flow and shorten return-on-investment timelines.

Flexible options for real-world needs

By combining rental and ownership models, VinFast gives drivers and fleet operators the flexibility to choose an option that matches their financial capacity and operational requirements. Whether entering the industry or scaling operations, the program is designed to adapt to different business needs.

At its core is VinFast’s purpose-built Green lineup, engineered for high-frequency transport services. Models like the Herio Green and Limo Green cater to a wide range of use cases—from solo drivers to high-capacity passenger transport. Built for durability and energy efficiency, these vehicles are optimized for lower total cost of ownership while maintaining comfort for long daily operations.

Rolling out across key cities

The program will initially launch in major urban hubs, including Greater Jakarta and Metro Manila, with gradual expansion planned across both markets. This phased rollout aligns with the growth of supporting infrastructure and rising demand for electric mobility solutions.

Drivers will also benefit from VinFast’s broader EV ecosystem in Southeast Asia, including access to charging support such as free charging at V-Green stations through March 2029—helping reduce operating expenses and improve overall efficiency.

Driving sustainable livelihoods

According to Ms. Duong Thi Thu Trang, Deputy CEO of Global Automotive Sales at VinFast, expanding EV access in Indonesia and the Philippines is a key step toward transforming the commercial transport sector—one of the most critical areas for sustainable development.

The initiative not only opens up more stable income opportunities for drivers but also contributes to cleaner cities and reduced emissions—linking economic benefits with environmental impact.

Building a regional EV ecosystem

VinFast continues to scale its presence in Southeast Asia by building a comprehensive electric mobility ecosystem—combining a growing product lineup, expanding dealership networks, aftersales services, and charging infrastructure.

This push is reinforced by Vingroup, which is rolling out complementary programs such as “Trade Gas for Electric,” offering additional purchase incentives, and fare discounts for electric ride services in Indonesia.

Together, these coordinated efforts position VinFast at the forefront of Southeast Asia’s transition to greener transport—delivering both sustainability and real economic value for drivers and communities.
