The Red Bull Dance Your Style Cebu Qualifiers unfolded as a truly spectacular spectacle! The atmosphere within the venue was charged with electricity as dancers from across Cebu mesmerized the audience with their astounding talent and unwavering passion for dance. The essence of the Red Bull Dance Your Style competition was fully realized, as each dancer took to the stage with their distinct style and captivating panache.

The Red Bull Dance Your Style Philippines event has brought forth a mesmerizing display of talent, skill, and unparalleled moves, captivating all who witnessed it. The display of raw talent dominating the stage serves as a source of inspiration and encouragement for both dancers and enthusiasts present in the audience. This sentiment was especially true for one of the Cebu Qualifiers’ finalists, Taw.

Taw’s journey to the spotlight is truly inspiring. Having previously been an audience member at the inaugural Red Bull Dance Your Style tournament, Taw held deep admiration for the dancers’ performances from a distance. His admiration led him to travel all the way from Bacolod to Manila to support the first Red Bull Dance Your Style winner, Mickey. A year later, Taw took a bold step forward, participating in the subsequent Red Bull Dance Your Style Cebu Qualifiers.

When questioned about his practice routine, Taw shared, “I consistently master the foundational elements of my style. I push the boundaries of my vocabulary and continually learn new sets and blowups. Daily practice has been incredibly beneficial.”

Despite the demands of his job and individual dance training, Taw’s unrelenting dedication, hard work, and self-confidence paid off, propelling him to the status of a regional finalist.

“I never expected that people would appreciate the rounds I performed during the Cebu Qualifier. I’m overwhelmed with joy to have secured a spot in the National Finals. It’s still unbelievable to me,” Taw exclaimed when asked about his feelings on reaching the National Finals.

However, Taw’s journey was not without its share of challenges, particularly financial constraints. His life circumstances meant that familial needs took precedence, leaving limited resources for his personal pursuits. With steadfast support from friends and family, Taw managed to gather financial assistance and sponsorship through the generosity of his students and friends.

Facing an upcoming fierce competition in the Red Bull Dance Your Style National Finals, Taw is unwavering in his commitment to intensify his preparation efforts. He acknowledges that to shine among the world’s finest dancers, he must transcend his own limits and elevate his skills to unprecedented heights.

Despite the daunting road ahead, Taw radiates optimism and imparts an encouraging message to those contemplating participation in future Red Bull Dance Your Style qualifiers. “To those who want to battle and learn to dance, don’t be afraid. Everyone has their own process. Invest in your craft and master your style, because knowing your dance is better. Remember that we all started from not knowing. If we can do it, you can too. Don’t fear trying; there’s nothing to lose.”

Taw is poised to stand as one of the 16 finalists competing in the National Finals on September 2. The victor of the National Finals will then ascend to the global stage, representing the Philippines against top dancers worldwide at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Finals in Germany this November.
