The very best players in the basketball world come together to test themselves in the NBA. As you can imagine, the players dominating the best league in the world stand in a class all their own. In a league so competitive, the best players can come and go from year to year.

In the NBA, there are a handful of players that are considered to be consistently the best. When you look at 1xbet NBA odds, the teams of these players are often heavy favourites. Which names stand out as the best players in the NBA right now? This is the shortlist.

Nikola Jokic, C, Denver Nuggets

There are definitely more entertaining players than “Joker,” but it is hard to beat what he has done over the last five years. He has won three of the last four NBA MVP awards and is a major contender to win the award again this season. He would become just the sixth player ever to win four or more MVPs in his career.

Jokic does everything well: shoots, rebounds, protects the rim, and distributes. The best a team can hope for is to let him get his points and hope to contain the rest of the team. Jokic is the most dominant center since Shaq and could wind up with a far more impressive resume when all is said and done.

Luka Doncic, G, Los Angeles Lakers

Imagine if a 25-year-old guard considered to be one of the best players in the league got traded in the middle of the season and not one first-round draft pick went back the other way. That was the shocking reality when Doncic, at times the best player in the world, was dealt to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Doncic won the NBA scoring title a year ago and willed a mediocre Dallas Mavericks to the NBA Final. Now, he is paired with LeBron James and has made the Lakers a contender overnight. No one can score like Luka, and he will be on lists like this for years to come.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, G, Oklahoma City Thunder

The only guy in the NBA that could realistically snatch the MVP award from Jokic this season. He has been a dominant guard for the Thunder, really coming into his own as a superstar during the 2023-24 season. With a month remaining, SGA is arguably the MVP.

He leads the league in scoring average, plays elite defense, and is the centerpiece of the best team in the league. He’s also on pace to become just the third player ever to average more than 30 points while shooting better than 50% and averaging five assists or more across three seasons. SGA does it all and more for a Thunder team that should be among the favourites to win the NBA Championship.

Jayson Tatum, F, Boston Celtics

How could one of the best young players, fresh off of winning his first NBA Championship, possibly be disrespected? We’re still trying to figure it out because Tatum is somehow underrated in his performance with the Celtics this season.

Though the race for MVP is down to basically two guys, Tatum’s performance can’t be ignored. He is averaging 27 points, six assists, and nearly nine rebounds per game. The Celtics are one of the deepest teams in the NBA, but Tatum is the driving force behind it all. He may not get the respect he deserves with the supporting cast he has, but Tatum is a superstar in every sense of the word and the catalyst for the Celtics.
