Trailer and Key Art for 8-Episode Limited Anime Series Available Now
The galaxy far, far away is expanding once again as Lucasfilm and acclaimed Japanese animation studio Production I.G bring one of Star Wars: Visions’ most beloved stories to life in an all-new anime event.
“Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi,” an eight-episode limited anime series, will premiere August 5, 2026, exclusively on Disney+ Philippines, giving fans a deeper journey into one of the franchise’s most celebrated original stories.
To build excitement ahead of its debut, Lucasfilm has also unveiled the series’ official trailer and striking new key art.
Unveiled at Anime Expo 2026
The first look at the highly anticipated series was revealed during a special “Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi” panel at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles.
Supervising director Kenji Kamiyama, director Shunsuke Tada, and producer Hitoshi Ito took the stage to introduce the new trailer and teaser poster, offering fans a glimpse of the next chapter in the expanding Visions universe.
A New Era for Star Wars: Visions
The series launches under the brand-new “Star Wars: Visions Presents” banner, an initiative designed to expand select Visions stories into longer-form adventures.
Rather than standalone animated shorts, the new banner allows fan-favorite stories to evolve into full-length serialized narratives while maintaining the distinct artistic style that made Star Wars: Visions a global success.
Kara’s Journey Continues
Set shortly after the acclaimed Visions episodes “The Ninth Jedi” and “The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope,” the new limited series follows Lah Kara as she continues her Jedi training under the guidance of Margrave Juro.
As Kara grows stronger in the ways of the Force, she joins a small fellowship of Jedi apprentices on an epic quest to rescue her father.
Along the way, the young Jedi must confront dangerous enemies, uncover hidden truths, and discover her true destiny in a journey filled with action, mystery, and emotional depth.
Acclaimed Creative Team Returns
The series is directed by Shunsuke Tada, with Mitsuyasu Sakai serving as writer.
Original The Ninth Jedi creator Kenji Kamiyama returns as supervising director, helping preserve the vision that made the original short one of the standout entries in the Star Wars: Visions anthology.
Executive producers include James Waugh, Jacqui Lopez, Josh Rimes, Justin Leach, and Mitsuhisa Ishikawa, while Hitoshi Ito and Kanako Shirasaki serve as producers, joined by co-producer Caroline Keller.

Fans of the English dub will once again hear familiar voices reprising their beloved roles, including:
