Mark your calendars for October 29, when the horror anthology drops exclusively on iWant.

A star-studded young cast featuring Xyriel Manabat, Karina Bautista, Kaori Oinuma, and Elyson de Dios is set to bring Metro Manila’s most chilling urban legends to life. This upcoming October 29 (Thursday), iWant will exclusively debut its newest limited horror anthology, “True Manila Encounters,” which dramatizes terrifying, real-life supernatural experiences submitted by everyday people.
Brought to life by the award-winning team at CreaZion Studios, this iWant original turns real-world nightmares into onscreen horror. Every spine-chilling episode is based on authentic, first-hand supernatural experiences curated from a wide pool of terrifying stories submitted by residents across Metro Manila.

Xyriel and Karina headline the opening episode, “Undressed,” which turns a routine thrift store trip into a ghost story. Pearl (Karina) tries to suppress her supernatural “third eye,” but she is forced into action when her coworker Mei-Mei (Xyriel) buys an ukay-ukay dress. Unbeknownst to them, the clothing is tied to a vengeful spirit with a bloody past, ready to terrorize anyone who comes near it.
Sitting in the director’s chair for “Undressed” is Rae Red, a filmmaker renowned for delivering high-caliber cinematic tension. Red brings her distinct creative vision to the premiere episode, building on an impressive directorial and writing portfolio that includes celebrated titles like Birdshot, Si Chedeng at Si Apple, and the hit horror film Eerie.

The anthology continues with “Occupant,” a tech-driven nightmare starring Kaori Oinuma and Elyson de Dios. The episode explores the fragile dynamics of a long-distance relationship between Ana (Kaori) and her career-driven boyfriend, Jam (Elyson), which takes a terrifying supernatural turn. What begins as routine video calls quickly devolves into horror as a malicious entity starts violently tormenting Ana through the screen, forcing a desperate Jam to find a way to save her sanity before she completely loses her grip on reality.
Taking the directorial reins for “Occupant” is Dodo Dayao, a filmmaker celebrated both locally and internationally for his mastery of atmospheric dread. Dayao brings his distinct psychological horror style to the Kaori-Elyson episode, building on a highly praised filmography that includes acclaimed titles like Midnight in a Perfect World, Violator, and Uninvited.
Don’t miss the exclusive double-feature event of “True Manila Encounters,” streaming only on iWant. The limited horror series launches its pilot chapter, “Undressed,” on October 29, followed by the premiere of its second episode, “Occupant,” on November 5 (Thursday).
Viewers can access the episodes globally through iWant’s flexible subscription tiers. For audiences in the Philippines, monthly plans begin at just ₱35. Meanwhile, international viewers can stream the content for USD 12.99 per month in the United States and USD 4.99 per month across the rest of the world.
