The highly anticipated family drama-suspense series brings together GMA Network and ABS-CBN Studios in a collaboration led by Sharon Cuneta and Barbie Forteza
Prime Video, GMA Network, and ABS-CBN Studios brought together the stars and creative team of Honor Thy Mother, along with members of the media, influencers, and special guests, for an exclusive advance screening and media conference on September 8 at Solaire North.

The event gave guests a first look at the highly anticipated 14-episode family drama-suspense series, a collaboration between GMA Network and ABS-CBN Studios, ahead of its global premiere exclusively on Prime Video.
Star-Studded Cast Celebrates Family
Leading the powerhouse cast were Sharon Cuneta, Barbie Forteza, John Estrada, Khalil Ramos, Mercedes Cabral, and Criza Taa, who were joined by the series’ creators and production team for the special occasion.
Adding an especially meaningful touch to the celebration, several cast members attended the event with their mothers and daughters, perfectly capturing the spirit of the series’ “Honor Thy Mother Everyday” theme.
The gathering became more than just a celebration of a new series as the cast and their loved ones shared memorable moments that reflected the show’s central focus on family and the special bonds between mothers and daughters.
Cast Opens Up About the Story and Their Characters
During the media conference’s Q&A session, the cast and creators opened up about their behind-the-scenes experiences while making Honor Thy Mother, as well as the challenges and discoveries that came with portraying its complex characters.
They also discussed the themes that make the series particularly personal, including love, sacrifice, secrets, ambition, and the ties that bind mothers and daughters.
The conversation offered a glimpse into how the actors’ own relationships with their families influenced their connection to the material, giving deeper context to the emotional dynamics at the heart of the series.
Mother’s Day-Inspired Experiences
Beyond the advance screening and media conference, guests were treated to a selection of Mother’s Day-inspired activities designed to celebrate their relationships with family.
From interactive experiences to meaningful moments shared with loved ones, the event extended the series’ themes of connection, love, and appreciation beyond the screen, creating a fitting celebration for a story centered on one of life’s most important relationships.
A Story of Secrets, Ambition, and a Long-Lost Daughter
Directed by acclaimed filmmakers Onat Diaz, known for Dirty Linen (2023) and The Alibi (2025), and Dolly Dulu, known for Saving Grace (2024), Honor Thy Mother is produced by GMA Network and ABS-CBN Studios.
The series follows a powerful businesswoman, played by Sharon Cuneta, whose carefully ordered life is suddenly disrupted when a determined young woman, portrayed by Barbie Forteza, uncovers a life-changing truth: she is Cuneta’s long-lost daughter.
After years apart, mother and daughter are forced to reconnect and confront the complicated realities surrounding their past. As they navigate their newfound relationship, they must face family secrets, ambition, and the consequences of choices made years earlier.
At its core, Honor Thy Mother explores the complicated yet enduring bond between a mother and daughter—and asks how far people are willing to go to protect the people they love and the lives they have built.
