🌆 Lumiose City Like You’ve Never Seen It
In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Lumiose City is undergoing a massive urban redevelopment project to better integrate Pokémon and humans. Compared to its appearance in Pokémon X and Y, the city is greener, more futuristic, and full of high-tech features.
By day, players can explore lush new areas, including “wild zones” — eco-friendly zones made for Pokémon to live in. Trainers can find, battle, and catch Pokémon here, both during the day and under the stars.
⚔️ Enter the Z-A Royale: Night Battles Heat Up
At night, Lumiose transforms into a battle arena with the Z-A Royale, a competitive event held from dusk till dawn. Trainers start at Rank Z and climb the ladder by defeating other competitors in fast-paced, high-stakes battles. One standout challenger? Corbeau, leader of the mysterious Rust Syndicate.
💥 Rogue Mega Evolution & Mega Stones Return
Mega Evolution is back, but with a twist. Some wild Pokémon have started Mega Evolving on their own, a phenomenon known as Rogue Mega Evolution. These Pokémon are extra aggressive, difficult to catch, and in clear distress. It’s up to Trainers (with help from the crew at Team MZ) to calm them down.
To Mega Evolve your own Pokémon, you’ll need to collect Mega Stones, which can be earned by trading Mega Shards found across Lumiose or by subduing rogue Pokémon.
And yes, there’s a brand-new Mega Evolution to look forward to: Mega Dragonite! With feeler-like wings on its head and a pearl on its tail, Mega Dragonite is faster, stronger, and more compassionate than ever.
👥 Join Team MZ and Protect the City
After proving yourself in battle, you can join Team MZ, a group working to keep Lumiose safe. With teammates like dancer-in-training Lida, aspiring designer Naveen, and your choice of mentor (Urbain or Taunie), you’ll investigate the city’s mysteries and support the community.
From calming rogue Pokémon to solving everyday problems, there’s always something to do.
🧪 Help with Pokémon Research and Solve City Mysteries
The Pokémon population in Lumiose has exploded, and Marble, the acting Pokémon researcher, needs your help figuring out why. You’ll also team up with Emma, a dedicated detective, to track down lost items, missing Pokémon, and more.

For the first time in the Pokémon series, Legends: Z-A features real-time battles. Both Trainers and Pokémon act in real time, with new mechanics that factor in move timing and area of effect. It’s faster, more tactical, and more intense than ever.
