The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), through the 37th Gawad Alternatibo, proudly presents a special screening of “Backstage Pass Season 3: The Pillars of the House” on October 9, 2025, at 2 p.m., at Cinema 2, Red Carpet Cinema, Shangri-La Plaza, Makati City.
Directed by Joseph Mangat, the third season of Backstage Pass shines a well-deserved spotlight on the CCP’s unsung heroes—the seasoned production managers, visual arts staff, front-of-house personnel, and countless others whose dedication keeps every performance and exhibition running seamlessly.
Through heartfelt interviews, archival footage, and behind-the-scenes moments, The Pillars of the House offers an intimate glimpse into the passion and discipline of those who bring art to life—often without ever stepping into the spotlight.
Following CCP’s 55th anniversary celebration and the Gawad CCP Para sa Sining in 2024, which recognized outstanding Filipino artists and cultural workers, Mangat’s latest documentary honors the same spirit of excellence and devotion behind the institution’s creative endeavors.
The film also highlights the meticulous coordination of Production Manager Dominique G. Torres, Visual Arts and Museum Division’s Orlando Jarme Jr., and Production and Exhibition Department Head Ariel Yonzon, who began his career at CCP as an usher. Set against the backdrop of the CCP’s ongoing rehabilitation, the documentary captures the resilience and teamwork that define its continuing legacy.
Coinciding with the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival, the documentary offers a rare and moving look at the lives of the people who make every curtain rise possible. Backstage Pass Season 3 goes beyond documentation—it is a heartfelt tribute to those who embody the CCP’s unwavering commitment to artistic excellence and cultural service.
The screening of Backstage Pass Season 3: The Pillars of the House marks the closing day of the 37th Gawad Alternatibo, which runs from October 6 to 9, 2025, at Red Carpet Cinema, Shangri-La Plaza.
Finalists of the 37th Gawad Alternatibo will be screened simultaneously with Cinemalaya 2025, with free admission to all screenings. The awarding ceremony will be held on October 10, 2025.
