With the theme “FILIPINAS: Perlas ng Silangan, Tanglaw ng Kinabukasan” (“FILIPINAS: Pearl of the Orient, Light of the Future”), the event, organized by the Games and Amusements Board (GAB), recognized MOONTON Games as the lone game developer and publisher to be awarded for its vital role in advancing female participation in esports.

Celebrating Women in Esports
“Congratulations to MOONTON Games. Your achievement is well-recognized, and may you continue what you’re doing for women in esports. You are contributing greatly to the development of esports in the country. We appreciate your efforts to operate and work with the Games and Amusements Board for the advancement of esports in the country,” said Atty. Francisco J. Rivera, Chairman of GAB.

Accepting the honor, Lee Viloria, PH Esports Head of Business Development and Partnerships, shared:
“At MOONTON Games, our commitment has always been to create a pathway to an inclusive esports ecosystem. We thank the Games and Amusements Board for recognizing our initiatives to create meaningful opportunities for women in esports. This recognition inspires us to continue empowering female players to showcase their talent on the biggest stages and to shape a more diverse esports community in the Philippines.”

Driving Opportunities for Female Gamers
Earlier this year, MOONTON launched the Athena League, a first-of-its-kind initiative dedicated to empowering women who aspire to join the professional MLBB esports scene. Serving as the official qualifier for the MLBB Women’s Invitational (MWI)—the premier tournament for female esports athletes held during the Esports World Cup in Riyadh—Athena League showcased the Philippines’ rising talents. Team Liquid PH and NAVI PH proudly represented the country, securing 4th and 5th place finishes respectively.

Industry Praise and Support
The recognition also drew praise from the Philippine Esports Organization (PESO).
“The Philippine Esports Organization extends our warmest congratulations to MOONTON Games for receiving the Paragon Award for Championing Women in Esports. Your dedication to fostering an inclusive community and providing platforms for women gamers to excel is truly inspiring,” said Marlon Marcelo, PESO Executive Director.

“MOONTON Games has consistently engaged and supported our talented women gamers, offering them opportunities to shine both locally and internationally. This award is well-deserved, and we celebrate this milestone with you,” Marcelo added.

Looking Ahead
The momentum continues as the Philippines prepares to field its SIBOL MLBB Female Team at the upcoming 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Bangkok this December. The roster features NAVI PH’s core five—Gwyneth Diagon (PHI.Diagon), Kaye Alpuerto (PHI.Alpuerto), Rica Amores (PHI.Amores), Sheen Perez (PHI.Shinoa), and Mery Vivero (PHI.Vivero)—led by coach Salman Macarambon (PHI.Macarambon). Joining them is Team Liquid PH’s Gold Laner, Clarisse Nicole Cordova (PHI.Cordova), as the team’s sixth member.

With its groundbreaking programs and continued support, MOONTON Games is setting a new standard for inclusivity and excellence in esports—paving the way for the next generation of Filipina gaming champions.
