Listerine Total Care helps clean where brushing can’t—reaching virtually the whole mouth to fight germs linked to plaque, cavities, and gum problems

The Department of Health reports a startling statistic: by age 70, the average Filipino will have just seven natural teeth remaining—even with regular brushing. Why? Because brushing alone only cleans about 25% of the mouth, leaving germs on the tongue, cheeks, gums, and other areas untouched.

This Oral Health Month, Listerine is tackling this widespread misconception with its “Brushing Lang? Kulang! Wash Your Mouth with Listerine!” campaign. The message is simple: brushing is just the first step—rinsing completes the clean.

Completing the Clean with Listerine Total Care Zero

While toothbrushes effectively clean tooth surfaces, germs can linger in places your brush can’t reach. That’s where Listerine Total Care Zero comes in. With 5x more cleaning power than brushing alone, it helps remove bacteria linked to cavities, plaque, and gum problems—protecting your whole mouth, not just your teeth. Plus, its mild taste makes daily use easy and refreshing.

“Oral care isn’t just about teeth—it’s about the whole mouth,” says Miggy Gamboa, Marketing Manager of Kenvue Philippines. “Brushing lays the foundation, but rinsing elevates your routine to complete protection.”

Listerine also engaged Filipinos online with a #WashYourMouthWithListerine TikTok filter, sparking over 6,000 posts showing why brushing alone leaves gaps in oral care.

Making the Message Visible

To bring the campaign to the streets, Listerine placed eye-catching outdoor ads in high-traffic areas like Taft Avenue, España Boulevard, and Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX). Commuters and passersby were reminded that brushing alone is not enough for total oral hygiene.

A Fun, Eye-Opening Approach

Listerine partnered with Watsons and Robinsons Supermarket for a playful yet revealing prank. Influencers Arshie Larga and Charuth set up a fake shoe-cleaning business, showing shoppers that brushing alone is like walking around with dirty shoes. The prank gave Filipinos a relatable visual of how incomplete oral care can be—and why rinsing matters.

Pocket-Sized Clean for Life On-the-Go

Listerine also introduced On-The-Go Sachets, available at 7-Eleven, Mercury Drug, and select drugstores, making it easier than ever for Filipinos to maintain clean mouths anytime, anywhere. Whether commuting, heading to a meeting, or traveling, a quick rinse delivers a complete, refreshing clean in seconds.

Listerine Total Care is available at leading supermarkets, drugstores, and online shopping platforms nationwide. Learn more and join the movement at Listerine Philippines Facebook.
