New Music Alert: Jericho Streegan Warms Up the Playlists with New Single “Jacket”

Leaving his hometown of Cebu behind, the rising artist moved to Manila to submerge himself in the heart of the country’s music industry.

Fresh off his big move to the capital, Cebuano singer-songwriter Jericho Streegan is back with a brand-new single titled “Jacket.” The track marks his first major drop since leaving Cebu for Metro Manila to go all-in on his music career.

“I don’t know exactly how I’m gonna make this work. What I know is I don’t wanna wake up five years, ten years later down the line and realize I never gave myself a chance. So, after a long time of back-and-forth, I’m here now. I left everything back home and I came here for music,” said Jericho in the first episode of his “Malabo” docuseries titled “what happens when you finally bet on yourself?”  

“For the longest time, I have known that I want music to be my life.  I want to wake up and write. I want to wake up and produce music, record, and play live shows,” he shared, describing his lifelong passion for music. 

As Jericho Streegan builds momentum in the local music scene, here is what you need to know about his new track and his artistic background:

• The New Drop: Released on Friday, October 23, under Tarsier Records, “Jacket” is an indie-pop ballad that uses a simple piece of clothing to symbolize deep longing. It will serve as a foundational track for his upcoming EP, Malabo.

• Early Musical Roots: Streegan’s passion began at age three through school performances and his mother’s music collection. He later taught himself guitar at twelve and began writing emotional lyrics at fifteen.

• Award-Winning Talent: In 2020, he won the Dasig Bisaya songwriting competition with his original Visayan song, “Unta.”

• Established Catalog: His existing discography under Tarsier Records includes well-received singles such as “Back To You,” “Shine,” and “Unsa’y Gibati.”
