Cagayan province, home to over 3.66 million residents, is a place where the youth play a vital role in shaping the region’s future. Nearly one-fifth of its population is aged 15 to 24, and with three out of four residents aged 10 and above already online, digital connectivity is widespread. Yet, many still face barriers in navigating and maximizing technology safely, responsibly, and creatively.

To bridge this gap, Globe rolled out a series of youth-focused engagements across the province—reaching over 750 students through programs that promote digital citizenship, leadership, and creative expression.

Investing in the Next Generation

Through a three-day initiative organized in partnership with Peñablanca National High School, Cagayan State University (CSU), and the Medical Colleges of Northern Philippines (MCNP), Globe brought together digital literacy modules, leadership development sessions, and creative platforms—all designed to build future-ready communities in Cagayan.

As we saw in Cagayan province, young Filipinos are already shaping their own futures with technology, leadership, and creativity. At Globe, we see the youth not just as future leaders but as leaders of today. Our role is to stand beside them as they build a better tomorrow for their communities and the nation,” said Raymond Mancilla, Globe Territory Business Head.

A Generation of Innovation, Leadership, and Community

At Peñablanca National High School, around 250 students joined sessions under Globe’s Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP)—an initiative that helps students become responsible and empowered digital citizens. Far from passive learners, participants showcased their curiosity and innovation by sharing the AI tools they already use in their studies, including Nomunity, Study Talk, Perplexity, Blackbox AI, and Scholar.ai.

Meanwhile, at Cagayan State University, over 350 student leaders gathered to explore how leadership can thrive in everyday actions that make a positive impact. Through DTP and complementary workshops on inclusivity, accountability, and student voice, participants were encouraged to lead by example and drive meaningful change within their schools and communities.

The three-day program culminated in the TM Fun Music concert, which brought together over 2,500 students from CSU’s Andrews and Carig campuses. The event—featuring performances by Amiel Sol, student artists, and local talents—turned learning into celebration, reinforcing the power of creativity and connection.

“We sincerely thank Globe for sharing their time, efforts, and resources with the students of Cagayan State University. Through the Digital Thumbprint Program, we were reminded of the importance of using technology responsibly, while the concert gave us a chance to celebrate and come together as one community,” said Kyle Aron Tan, CSU Student Regent and Andrews Campus Student Council President.
“These activities brought both learning and joy, leaving a lasting impact on us as more informed, connected, and inspired individuals.”

Beyond Skills: Building Empathy and Purpose

At the Medical Colleges of Northern Philippines, over 150 medical student leaders participated in DTP sessions that underscored the intersection of technology, ethics, and compassion in leadership.

“The seminar was an eye-opening experience for all the student leaders, making them realize the importance of being responsible digital citizens in today’s fast-changing online world,” said James Vidad, MSNP-ISAP Student Activities Coordinator.
“Each of us gained practical knowledge on protecting our identity online, securing personal information, and identifying misinformation—skills that matter not just for ourselves, but for the people we serve.”

Shaping a Brighter Digital Future

From classrooms to concert halls, Globe’s initiatives in Cagayan province embody a simple yet powerful truth: the brilliance of the Filipino youth is the nation’s greatest harvest.

By investing in their digital literacy, creativity, and leadership potential, Globe is helping shape a new generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers—empowered to build a more connected and inclusive future for all.
