Journey Map

In celebration of the UN International Day of Play this June, FundLife, a child-focused nonprofit based in Tacloban, is set to break new ground with Move for Play: Infinity Run—the Philippines’ first 116KM split-stage XXL Community Run, happening on June 14–15, 2025.

A bold mix of movement and advocacy, the Infinity Run reimagines running as a powerful platform to spotlight a child’s right to safe, inclusive play. FundLife aims to raise awareness and inspire action by harnessing the universal energy of sport to push for better, safer environments where children can grow, explore, and thrive.

Covering a symbolic 116 kilometers—inspired by June 11, the UN-declared International Day of Play—the run spans from Clark to Makati, cutting through rural and urban terrain. But more than a test of endurance, it’s a collective call to action: a reminder that play is not a privilege—it’s a right.

“Move for Play celebrates the freedom to run, explore, and dream. Every child deserves a safe place to play,” said Marko Kasic, Executive Director of FundLife. “This is about igniting awareness and creating spaces where children can truly thrive.”

From Ultra Athletes to Everyday Runners

The 116KM route will be divided into four stages, with checkpoints every 29 kilometers. While a small group of ultra-runners will take on the full route, each stage is open to runners of all levels, making the campaign inclusive, participatory, and community-driven.

Among the notable participants:

  • Dana Lora, strength coach and Girls Got This ambassador, will run the final stage (29KM), sharing, “I’m not an ultra-runner, but this cause is worth pushing for.”
  • Natalie Dau, world-renowned ultra-endurance athlete, Founder of Project 1000, and Guinness World Record holder, joins as the event’s global ambassador. Dau recently completed a 1,000-kilometer run across Luzon, embodying the spirit of resilience behind the campaign.

“Movement is a language that breaks barriers,” Dau said. “Running 116KM is nothing compared to what it could mean for a child to feel seen, heard, and safe.”

A Greater Cause Beyond the Finish Line

Globally, only 31% of urban communities have access to safe public play areas (UNICEF). In the Philippines, this gap is even wider, especially in high-density and underserved areas. FundLife is addressing this by partnering with local government units to build safe play and learning spaces—starting with two new centers in Leyte.

The final 11.6KM stretch of the Infinity Run takes place on June 15 at 6:00 AM at Ayala Triangle Gardens—open to the public and symbolic of a shared finish line. Everyone is welcome to run alongside the endurance athletes, celebrate their feat, and show support for the advocacy.
