The 33rd National Public Relations (PR) Congress, carrying the theme “STEWARD THE STORY: From Clout to Legacy,” is set to bring together an impressive lineup of thought leaders representing some of the Philippines’ most influential organizations and industries.

Slated for September 17 and 18 at Solaire Resort North, the annual gathering will convene PR and communications professionals, educators, students, and industry leaders for two days of learning, discussion, and meaningful exchange.

Delegates will have the opportunity to hear from the following distinguished speakers:

  • Roby Alampay, FVP and Head of Public Engagement, PLDT Inc.; Founder and Chair, PumaPodcast
  • Mon Isberto, APR, Communications Consultant, MediaQuest Holdings; Head, THINKaMuna Pilipinas
  • Malyn Molina, Executive Adviser for Creative Economy, ASEAN Business Advisory Council; President and COO, EON Group
  • Miko David, President, Digital Marketing Association of the Philippines; Managing Partner, David & Golyat
  • Jen Aquino, Managing Director of Probe Productions
  • Philip Dy, President, Metrobank Foundation, Inc.; Executive Director, GT Foundation

Exploring Authenticity, Agility, and Advocacy

The featured speakers will tackle topics aligned with three key pillars of contemporary PR practice: authenticity, agility, and advocacy.

Each presentation will be followed by panel discussions designed to deepen delegates’ understanding of the growing responsibility of PR professionals to become more mindful, intentional, and responsible stewards of the stories behind the brands and organizations they represent.

“In an age where stories can go viral in seconds, our responsibility is to look beyond visibility and ask what kind of trust, values, and legacy our communication leaves behind,” said Ana Pista, APR, President of PRSP.

“This National PR Congress brings together diverse voices to help us navigate that responsibility with greater purpose and integrity,” she added.

Addressing the Realities Facing Communicators Today

According to Ed Timbungco, APR, Chair of the 33rd National PR Congress, the event was developed around the challenges and realities facing today’s communications professionals.

“We designed the National PR Congress around the realities communicators face today—from dealing with the proliferation of disinformation that challenges the authenticity of brand narratives to coming to terms with the widespread use of artificial intelligence; from leveraging the creator economy and optimizing influencer partnerships to agreeing on measuring the tangible impact of our PR efforts, and ultimately, doing our bit to harness PR in building a better world for the next generation,” Timbungco said.

The discussions are expected to examine how PR practitioners can navigate a rapidly changing communications landscape while ensuring that their work creates meaningful and lasting value beyond immediate visibility or influence.
