Whale TV, the leading independent TV operating system maker, has announced that FlareFlow, the flagship microdrama platform of COL Group, is now available on Whale TV-enabled televisions across South America. The partnership gives viewers throughout the region access to FlareFlow’s extensive library of premium microdramas directly on their TV screens, opening a new chapter for short-form entertainment beyond mobile devices.

Since launching in 2025, FlareFlow—COL Group’s short-drama platform designed for global markets—has rapidly expanded its international footprint. The platform has surpassed 52 million registered users and now offers nearly 7,000 premium short-drama titles, reaching audiences across more than 200 countries and regions worldwide. In TikTok’s Q1 2026 short-drama revenue-sharing rankings, FlareFlow also ranked No. 1 among all rights holders, underscoring its growing influence in the global short-drama market.

Powered by COL Group’s “Vertical 2.0” strategy and its end-to-end capabilities in distribution, localization, and AI-enabled production, FlareFlow is scaling premium short-form entertainment worldwide through platform integrations and licensing partnerships.

The platform has already delivered several breakout hits. Raising His Mistress’s Child has surpassed 200 million views, while the She Means Justice series has entered IP development as COL Group works to expand its story into a broader content universe. Other popular titles, including Reborn to Be the Top Heiress, Mommy, It Hurts…, and Shoot at My Heart, have each generated more than $1 million in user spending.

Short Dramas Enter a New Era

Short dramas have emerged as one of the fastest-growing entertainment formats worldwide. Global short-drama revenue reached approximately $11 billion in 2025, while worldwide short-drama app downloads surpassed 850 million in Q1 2026 alone, representing a 140% year-over-year increase.

Artificial intelligence is also rapidly transforming the production landscape, with AI now involved in the creation of more than 95% of new short-drama titles industry-wide.

As the format continues its evolution from mobile devices to larger living-room screens, the short-drama industry is entering what could be an unprecedented period of transformation—bringing highly condensed, emotionally driven storytelling into the heart of home entertainment.

Jack Q. Gao, CEO of Whale TV, said: “FlareFlow’s success in international mobile markets confirms the global appeal of short dramas as an emerging content format. The home TV screen has always been the center for family entertainment, and demand for premium audiovisual content is especially strong in South America. We’re delighted that FlareFlow selected Whale TV as its partner for its television debut. Through Whale TV’s operating system and global channel reach, we will together bring a more immersive, more intelligent microdrama viewing experience to millions of households across South America.”

Tong Zhilei, Chairman and President of COL Group, added: “With their tight narrative pacing and strong emotional resonance, microdramas have won over millions of users worldwide on mobile. But the imagination behind short dramas doesn’t stop at the phone screen. When they enter the living room and appear on TV, their content value is unlocked even further. Whale TV’s reach and user base in South America give FlareFlow an efficient channel to reach local family audiences. We look forward to exploring, together through this partnership, even more possibilities for microdramas on the home TV screen.”

FlareFlow Now Available on Whale TV

Starting today, users across South America can download the FlareFlow app directly from the Whale TV App Store and access its extensive library of premium short dramas on their televisions.

The launch marks an important step in the evolution of microdrama entertainment, bringing the fast-paced storytelling and emotional appeal that have made the format a mobile phenomenon onto the larger, more immersive home TV screen.

With Whale TV’s television ecosystem and FlareFlow’s growing global content library coming together, microdrama fans in South America now have a new way to experience the format—right from the comfort of their living rooms.
