Etheria: Restart is an upcoming free-to-play turn-based strategy RPG by XD Entertainment. It launches on June 5, 2025 and will be available on PC (Windows) and mobile (iOS/Android) with full cross-platform support. Set in a futuristic virtual city, the story casts you as a “Hyperlinker” preserving humanity’s legacy in the digital world Etheria. A global freeze has driven humans to upload their consciousness into Etheria, but a malicious “Genesis Virus” is corrupting the Animus, magical cybernetic beings forcing the Hyperlinker Union to intervene.

Release Date & Platforms

  • Launch Date: June 5, 2025. (Pre-orders/wishlists are open now.)
  • Platforms: Windows PC (Steam and official client), iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play).
  • Cross-Play: Progress syncs across all devices, so you can switch between PC and mobile seamlessly.

Etheria: Restart is free-to-play (with in-app purchases), and a Windows system requirement (15 GB, Windows 10, ~8 GB RAM, mid-range GPU) is listed on Steam, confirming a proper PC client. In short, PC gamers can enjoy the same game as mobile players, with saved data and characters shared.

Gameplay Features

Etheria: Restart builds on classic turn-based combat but adds modern twists. Players form teams of “Animus” heroes, each with unique skills and an exclusive progression tree. In battle, you can give real-time commands controlling each Animus’s actions to trigger skill combos and synergies. The result is a strategic, yet dynamic feel: plan your moves, then execute them in cinematic fashion.

Key gameplay highlights include:

  • 3D Cinematic Battles: Unreal Engine graphics with lifelike lighting and dynamic camera work make fights spectacular. Characters have unique battle animations and dazzling visual effects.
  • Endless Team Combinations: Mix and match hundreds of collectible Animus. Each character has a “Prowess” skill tree and customizable Shell equipment. Nearly 100 different Ether Modules allow you to tweak any Animus’s class or playstyle.
  • Diverse Heroes: The game features a large roster of distinctive characters(e.g. a dual-wielding Reaper, a punk-genius hacker, a soul-flame Empress), encouraging varied team strategies.
  • Strategic PvP Arena: A non-stop one-on-one Arena lets you duel other players’ teams for competitive thrills.
  • Rich PvE Content: In addition to the story quest, there are boss raids and dungeons (the “Threshold”, GP Outposts, and deeper “Ruins” areas) for co-op and solo challenges.

Features at a glance:

  • Unreal Engine 3D cinematic visuals (anime/Sci-fi style).
  • Turn-based team battles with real-time control and endless combos.
  • Hundreds of Animus to collect (from grim Reapers to tech hackers).
  • Deep customization (Shell equipment and Ether Modules) for unique builds.
  • Competitive PvP and varied PvE (boss fights, exploration) modes.

Art Style & Genre

Etheria: Restart combines anime-inspired character art with a sleek cyberpunk/sci-fi setting. Its aesthetic is described as “breathtaking 3D” in a futuristic virtual city. The game’s Steam tags include JRPG, Anime, Sci-Fi, Futuristic and Cyberpunk, reflecting a blend of story-driven JRPG mechanics and high-tech visuals. Overall, expect colorful character designs and a tech-noir cityscape, all rendered in 3D.

Monetization & Gacha System

As a free-to-play title, Etheria: Restart uses a gacha system for character collection. Players obtain new Animus by summoning on banners. The summon currencies are Hydra Crystals (premium currency) and Anima/Apex Prototypes (summon tickets). For example, you can exchange 100 Hydra Crystals for 1 Anima Prototype, which is then used to pull on elemental (Red/Blue/Green) banners. A separate Apex Prototype works on special Light/Dark banners. Summons yield heroes of rarity R, SR, or SSR. Notably, equipment (Shells) cannot be summoned – they drop from gameplay (missions, bosses, dungeons), so you never pay for weapons. In-app purchases let you buy Hydra Crystals to pull more.

The pre-registration rewards emphasize this system: you get 800 Hydra Crystals and 10 Anima Prototypes to jump-start summoning, plus a free “Full Multi-Pull” (a guaranteed 10x summon). (In short, the game follows typical gacha monetization: free play with optional premium pulls.)

Pre-Registration & Rewards

Pre-registration is open now on the official Etheria website, Google Play, Apple App Store, and Steam. Signing up in advance grants an exclusive bundle at launch. Current rewards include:

  • 800 Hydra Crystals (gacha currency)
  • 10 Anima Prototype summon tickets
  • 1 Full Multi-Pull ticket (one free 10x summon)
  • 80,000 Etheria Coins (in-game currency)
  • Exclusive avatar frame and protagonist outfit (skin)

To claim these rewards, just visit the official site or game store page and hit Pre-register. On iOS, for example, Etheria: Restart is already in Pre-Order status with an expected June 5 release. All these bonuses will drop into your account when the servers go live.

Why Play Etheria: Restart?

Etheria: Restart offers a polished package that stands out among new strategy RPGs. Its combination of turn-based tactics with real-time control adds a fresh twist. The customization depth (shells, Ether modules, Prowess trees) and large hero roster mean no two teams play alike. Cross-play support lets you grind on PC or mobile interchangeably.

Early previews and beta streams have generated real hype for the game. Fans note that, unlike many gacha games, Etheria doesn’t put gear behind paywalls, you farm weapons through gameplay which is a big plus for strategy fans. Plus, the dedicated PvP Arena and emphasis on “deep character builds” will attract competitive players. In short, if you enjoy anime-styled sci-fi RPGs or games like Langrisser/Dislyte with a strong PvP and customizable heroes, Etheria: Restart should be on your radar.
