Fresh off a historic US debut and a milestone entry on the Billboard 200, Japanese dance and vocal group BE:FIRST is celebrating their fifth anniversary with the launch of BE:4U. Dropping on November 3, the 13-track record marks the six-member group’s first original studio album in nearly two years, offering a mix of fresh material, sub-unit tracks, and a newly recorded rendition of their hit single “Mainstream.”
The album’s spearheading track, “NOW U KNOW,” is a high-octane hip-hop anthem that chronicles the group’s meteoric rise and unstoppable ambition. Showcasing the group’s signature hands-on artistry, member MANATO actively contributed to the track’s creation.
BE:4U boasts a diverse tracklist, including the lifelong group declaration “BE:FIRST ALL DAY” and “Missing,” a poignant, bittersweet love song marking their second collaboration with acclaimed British DJ and producer Jonas Blue. The record also weaves in prominent commercial and cinematic tie-ins: “It’s not a bad life” serves as the theme song for the film RYUJI, which features member JUNON; “街灯 Lighting up the town” anchors FamilyMart’s Christmas campaign; and “H.A.R.E.” soundtracks a major Suntory draft beer campaign.
A major highlight of the album is the introduction of two distinct sub-unit tracks that showcase the members’ versatility: “Diva” (performed by SHUNTO, MANATO, and JUNON) and “#Conbini” (delivered by SOTA, RYUHEI, and LEO). Additionally, MANATO, JUNON, and LEO teamed up with world-renowned producer Shintaro Yasuda to craft the track “for you.”
Reinforcing BE:FIRST’s commitment to self-production, every single newly recorded song on the album features writing or production credits from the members themselves. For fans grabbing the physical LIVE editions, the album includes a bonus second disc capturing the group’s MTV Unplugged: BE:FIRST performance at the PIA ARENA MM from March 3, 2026.
This highly anticipated release caps off an extraordinary, record-breaking year for the group. In May, BE:FIRST hosted their very first solo stadium concerts, pulling in a massive crowd of 100,000 fans over a two-day stretch. Taking their music global, they took the stage at Head In The Clouds LA 2026 in Los Angeles and made their debut at Indonesia’s LaLaLa Festival in August. September marked the release of their global EP WATCH ME, which officially secured their US debut and propelled them onto the Billboard 200 chart at No. 130. The group also successfully wrapped up their BE:FIRST WORLD SHOWCASE 2026, treating fans to explosive live sets across Bangkok, Taipei, Manila, and a double-header in New York.
BE:FIRST shows no signs of slowing down as they take their 5th-anniversary celebrations into the new year with the massive BE:FIRST 5th Anniversary DOME TOUR 2027. The highly anticipated stadium trek will kick off at the Tokyo Dome on January 11 and 12, followed by the Mizuho PayPay Dome Fukuoka on February 13 and 14, before concluding at the Belluna Dome in Saitama on March 6 and 7.
