Global music icon Ed Sheeran has unveiled his newest single, “A Little More”, alongside a witty, laugh-out-loud music video that reunites him with longtime friend and Harry Potter star Rupert Grint, marking a comedic continuation of a fan-favorite collaboration more than a decade in the making.

“A Little More” blends Sheeran’s trademark heartfelt storytelling with blues-infused melodies, resulting in a track that feels both fresh and emotionally resonant. The lyrics explore themes of self-preservation, resilience, and moral courage, carried by a groove that’s both soulful and laid-back. Sheeran co-wrote the song with an all-star team, including DAVE (Nothing On You, F64), Blake Slatkin (Charli XCX, Kid Laroi), Cirkut (The Weeknd, Lil Nas X), and his frequent collaborator Johnny McDaid. Slatkin and Cirkut took the helm in production, adding rich instrumental layers and polished arrangements that give the track a modern yet timeless feel.

In the weeks before the release, Sheeran built anticipation through a series of cryptic, tongue-in-cheek social media teasers — including posts humorously “hijacked” by Grint, who played along as a mischievous alter ego. The stunt not only amused fans but also fueled speculation about the nature of their reunion.
The music video, directed by Emil Nava (known for his work with Post Malone and Dua Lipa), picks up exactly where their 2011 collaboration “Lego House” left off. Once again, Grint steps into the role of Sheeran’s obsessive superfan, now freshly released from prison and determined to start anew. However, his attempts at living a normal life spiral into absurdity as Sheeran’s image seems to haunt him everywhere — from billboards and shop windows to unexpected cameos in his daily routine. The comedic tension peaks at Grint’s own wedding, where an outrageous twist at the altar sends the entire storyline into chaotic, laugh-out-loud territory.
This release follows the success of Sheeran’s recent single “Sapphire,” a heartfelt global collaboration with Indian playback singer Arijit Singh. That track wove together Hindi, Punjabi, and English lyrics, creating a cross-cultural love song that resonated deeply with audiences around the world and demonstrated Sheeran’s willingness to experiment with diverse sounds and languages.
With “A Little More” adding humor, warmth, and a bluesy edge to his catalog, and “Sapphire” showcasing his global versatility, anticipation is building for Sheeran’s forthcoming album Play, set to release on September 12. Early indications suggest that the record will be one of his most eclectic yet, offering a mix of sonic textures, emotional storytelling, and creative collaborations that could redefine the next chapter of his career.
