Global rising stars XG made history with their electrifying debut at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2025, joining the ranks of headliners Lady Gaga, Green Day, and Post Malone. As the only Japanese act to perform at this year’s festival and one of the second headliners, XG marked a groundbreaking milestone for Asian representation on the global music stage.
Performing on April 13 and 20 at the iconic SAHARA Stage, XG closed both weekends with a fiery 13-song set that captivated a combined audience of 30,000 fans. The group made a striking entrance in custom Coachella outfits, launching into their set with “HESONOO + X-GENE” from their debut mini album NEW DNA.
The crowd erupted when they performed their viral all-rap anthem “WOKE UP”, which dominated Billboard’s Global Japan Songs (Excl. Japan) for nine weeks and topped YouTube trending charts across 19 regions.
Highlights of their set included:
- “GRL GVNG,” the first Japanese track to top Billboard’s Hot Trending Songs chart, complete with a dynamic chair routine.
- “LEFT RIGHT,” which made history as the first song by a Japanese girl group to chart for 13 consecutive weeks on U.S. Mediabase Top 40 Radio, the longest run ever by an Asian girl group.
- Their fan-favorite hits “TGIF,” “PUPPET SHOW,” “MASCARA,” and “IYKYK.”
Their set reached its climax with the viral Shiseido Anessa campaign anthem “IS THIS LOVE,” before wrapping up with “NEW DANCE,” “SOMETHING AIN’T RIGHT,” and the explosive finale “SHOOTING STAR.”
With live band arrangements, exclusive choreography, and next-level production, XG delivered a performance that proved why they are one of the most exciting forces in global pop today.

The group recently released their emotional new single “IN THE RAIN”, accompanied by a cinematic music video that opens with JURIA closing an umbrella in a rain-soaked night. The visual seamlessly transitions through solitary moments of each member, ultimately converging in a powerful symbol of unity against a timeless monochrome backdrop.
Currently in the midst of their massive XG 1st WORLD TOUR – The First HOWL, the group is performing in 35 cities across 18 countries, with a total of 47 shows. The tour, which launched in May 2024 in Japan, continues to draw massive audiences in cities like São Paulo and Mexico City, and will conclude with a monumental finale at Tokyo Dome on May 14.
Coinciding with the Tokyo Dome performance, XG is also set to release their upcoming single “MILLION PLACES” – another major moment in what has been a landmark year for the global girl group.
