CARMELLE’s performance of “Sobra-Sobra” officially won the “Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026: Philippine Selection Night.” The track, which serves as a potent anthem for women’s empowerment, was composed by the songwriting duo of Nica del Rosario and Mat Olavides.
From her breakout victory on “Tawag ng Tanghalan: The School Showdown” to the global stage, CARMELLE is headed to Bangkok, Thailand on November 14 to wave the Philippine flag at the first-ever Eurovision Asia competition.
Securing the runner-up spot during the August 30 finals at the New Frontier Theatre was “Broken Beyond Repair.” Written by Angelo Gonzales, the emotional track was brought to life through a commanding performance by Tawag ng Tanghalan alumnus SAGA.
Rounding out the top positions in third place was “Mapadama,” a track written by Jeremy G and Jungee Marcelo. The song was beautifully delivered by Marielle Montellano alongside Tawag ng Tanghalan Duets Season 1 champion JM Dela Cerna.
The top three tracks emerged victorious over a highly competitive pool of seven other entries. The remaining stellar lineup included:

“Cheri(e)” – Penned by Nar Cabico and sung alongside Esang, Elha, and Lance Reblando
“Di Yan (Red Flag)” – Written by Jason Marvin and performed by Jason Dy and Sassa
“Good For You” – Authored by Hazel Faith Santos and interpreted by Ryssi Avila
“Make It Exist” – Created by Angelo Calucin and brought to life by boy group AJAA
“Reason to Live” – Composed by Stephen Tan and performed by KHIMO
“Round N’ Round” – Crafted by Julius James de Belen and John Michael Conchada, and interpreted by VVINK and WRIVE Russu
The final results were calculated using a weighted voting system that combined judges’ scores with real-time public submissions. Specifically, a professional evaluation panel accounted for 40% of the total tally, local viewers in the Philippines contributed another 40%, and the remaining 20% was determined by international voters.
An elite panel of judges was tasked with scoring the entries, featuring veteran composer Nonoy Tan (who also serves as FILSCAP president), songwriter Choi Padilla, screen and stage director Joane Laygo, and legendary musical director Louie Ocampo. Lending their vocal expertise to the table were OPM icons Angeline Quinto, Jed Madela, and Vina Morales.
Kickstarting the festivities was a vibrant rendition of “Mabuhay ang Musikang Pilipino,” an original anthem crafted especially for the event by ABS-CBN Music’s Jonathan Manalo. The spectacular opening performance showcased the powerhouse vocals of AZTER, Bryan Chong, Ian Manibale, Klarisse de Guzman, Lyka Estrella, MIAH, and Reiven Umali.
Broadcasting the event nationwide, ABS-CBN serves as the official home of the “Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026,” cementing its ongoing drive to share Filipino music and creative genius with global audiences.
Anchored by the charismatic Vice Ganda, alongside co-hosts Alexa Ilacad and Darren, the high-stakes event was broadcast live on iWant, ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and Kapamilya Online Live. Global audiences were also able to tune in via TFC, with a delayed telecast later aired on MYX.
